There was a time when I thought the high was life
When I thought, when I knew drugs were right.
When in my heart I could turn from you
I could hide. I could live life on my own,
Then you cried, "Come to me."
That is when I fell for you.
"God!" I cried. "God!" I prayed.
And I said. "Help me."
When I cried. "I'm a sinner."
There that night alone I ask for one thing
I cried, and prayed for salvation and mercy.
I knew you should turn form me.
But in mercy, you picked me up.
When I deserve hell, you gave me heaven.
When I deserve to be forsaken, you instead, gave your son.
You said, "I still love you."
I cried for love, didn't deserve.
I cried for mercy, I didn't deserve.
I cried for grace, I didn't deserve.
You gave all I didn't deserve.
You said, "Come my child".
I gave my life to you.
But, it still can't pay the debt I owe.
But I'm loved, and if I love you the debt is paid.
I AM FREE FROM SIN!
