"Do we have to do this?"
"If you'd rather float here for eternity, be my guest."
"How do you know it will work?"
"It'll work."
"But –"
"Are you coming or not?"
"Fine. Who gets dominance?"
"I do."
"Why?"
"Because I'm older than you. You know what they say – age before beauty."
"You think I'm beautiful?"
"You're vain enough to be. Now come here so I can bind us together."
"Ow!"
"Shut up, idiot. Are you ready?"
"I don't –"
"Too bad. It's started."
Both voices fell silent as the world began to spin around them, melting into something not quite new – their own body. And they didn't have to share it with anyone but each other.
They felt a growing excitement as a dense black fog permeated their vision, seeing visions of judgment passed on the pharaoh who had destroyed them.
Many hours later, Bakura rose gradually to awareness, finally opening his eyes with an idiotic grin on his face. Unable to contain himself, he jumped up, ignoring the painful pricks of a life-support system being forcefully removed. Spotting a mirror, he hurried over to it, eager to inspect his new body.
Seeing the reflection staring back at him, he froze, too shocked to curse himself and the gods for this misfortune.
"Good job, idiot," the other spirit said, appearing as a mirror image of their new body floating to one side.
"How was I supposed to know?" Bakura growled, eyeing the girl in the mirror warily.
