This little one-shot was inspired by my friend Zane. Yes I know a guy named Zane. He lost many things. This is dedicated to you Zane! Enjoy!

I sat in the park; watching the children play, pretending to fight. It made my servers bring up the memories of my friends, except those memories date back 75 years ago. They all died long ago. I was alone.

Kai, Cole, Jay, Nya, and Lloyd. All gone, their kids blamed their parent's deaths on me, for not protecting them. I tried, I really did, the bandits just got to them before I could, all of them died in the ambush; except for me.

The guilt I now carried burdened me, and it always will. I had nobody, they were all gone.

As my Sensei would say, "Never give up hope."

But my hope was gone, like my family.

I looked at the rust on my arms, from battles and weather damage; I was now a walking rust bucket, as some people would call me.

I stared at the kids playing on the playground. The mothers and fathers pulled their children away from me, afraid I would go anything to harm them.

"What a freak!" One of the mothers scoffed dragging her crying child away from the play area.

Why that all I was, a freak? No, I was a robot, I never wanted this. My father gave me this destiny.

My father, only if he was here. Died of old age, left me to fix myself when I broke down. I never did fix myself; I wanted to be with my friends, to shut down. My hope was gone, and possibly would never return.

I stood up; leaving this place, hoping it will only be a distant memory. My gears creaked as I moved, it hurt to walk, or move. It hurt to even live like this. The new technological city of Ninjago didn't need me anymore. Nor did they need ninja; the police department handled all evil doing in the city.

"Cool!" I youthful voice shouted. I slowly turned to see a young boy around the age of 12. He had spikey blond hair, and dark brown eyes.

"Are you one of the ninja?" he asked me

"I was a ninja, until my friends passed on." I said sadly, but the young boy kept his wide smile.

"I always wanted to be a ninja!" He jumped and pretended to fight

"Where are your parents?" I asked

The little boy looked down, "They died, when I was eight, I've been living on the streets ever since."

"You don't have a family? A home?"

"I have hope. That's something you never lose." The boy smiled

"You can lose hope, I have." I started walking away.

"Why? You're a ninja, a robot. You live forever, that's awesome!"

"Living forever is not awesome; you lose the ones you love." I snapped

"You don't have to live forever to lose loved ones. Many people lose their family, sometimes at a young age, sometimes at an old age. Things like that happen; you just never know when it will happen." The young boy wiped his face.

I felt sympathy for the young boy, no home, no family. Almost like me.

"Your leg, looks messed up. I can fix it if you want." The boy kneeled down; he took a hold of my leg and snapped it. My leg suddenly felt loose and relaxed.

Silence filled the air as the boy stood up. "I better get going, it's getting dark." The boy started to walk away.

"Wait!" I reached for him, the boy stopped and turned back around.

"I know somewhere you can stay." I spoke softly

"Really? I don't have any to give you." He frowned

I smiled; fake tears ran down my face, I wiped them away. "You've already given me everything I've needed."

"What's that?" He asked curiously.

"Hope."

Fin.

That's for all you Zane fan-girls out there! Hope you all liked it, and please review!
