Here comes the anxiety
To say she was Ok would be the biggest lie she had ever told. Out Of everything that has happened to her in the last four years this was hitting her the hardest. She was leaving her, by choice.
It was a hot and humid Thursday when She had decided to break the news to her. Paige paced back and forth through her now empty house for what seemed like hours before mustering up the courage to call her. The phone rang twice before Emily's voice flooded her ears.
"Hey" she said breathlessly.
A smile broke out on her face upon hearing the excitement in her girlfriends voice.
"Hey yourself" The shorter girl replied flirtatiously feeling a bit more relaxed after hearing the voice she loved so much.
Her mood suddenly changed after remembering what she had been putting off telling the other girl "When will you be here again?" Paige asked. attempting to hide the nervousness in her voice.
"Hmm in about fifteen minutes. I'm just leaving Spencer's now. Is everything alright?" The tan girl asked with a hint of worry in her voice.
"I'm great. I just miss you and can't wait to see you" The lighter haired girl lied. It wasn't right to tell her something like this over the phone, she decided to wait until Emily got there.
"I'll see you when you get here I guess" Paige said staring at the letter she was holding in her hand.
Emily frowned when she heard her girlfriends reply "Alright. I love you" she said before hanging up.
After locking her phone and setting it in her purse on the seat next to her she set off towards Paige's house. Emily could tell something was off when she had spoken to her girlfriend. If Emily knew on thing it was when somebody was lying. After all, she was a professional at it. Shaking the feeling that something was wrong, she started the fifteen minute drive to Paige's house.
The loud sound of the doorbell shook her from her thoughts and startled her making the smaller girl drop the bowl of popcorn she was carrying. She groaned and walked away from the mess that she just made, making a mental note to clean it up later. She took a few deep breathes before opening the door.
'It's now or never' she thought to herself.
She was met with the sight of the woman she loved with a smile plastered on her face. She was dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. Paige was quite sure that Emily could look good in anything she decided to wear. The taller girl could probably make a paper bag look sexy.
"Like what you see McCullers?" Her girlfriend teased stepping into the house heading straight for the living room where she set her bag down before turning to look at Paige.
"What? Do I not get a hello kiss?" She asked jokingly, leaning in to kiss Paige's lips.
Before the girl could kiss her she moved away. "Em. We need to talk" The shorter girl replied before hesitantly looking up at her.
