Everyone is so concerned about what everyone else thinks of them. But whose judgment truly matters?

WHAT GOD THINKS

I was inspired to write this after listening to a beautiful song about how God's opinion of us should matter more than the world's opinion. We should strive to please God, rather than our friends.

Sure, I care about my worldly reputation as much as the next person; all of us want to be respected and understood. But whose outlook on you do you care about the most?

Self-conscious
Wary of the world's watchful eyes
Always taking care
To not make a fool of yourself

Always bending over backwards
Going to any lengths
Just to please the public
Just to make certain
Your own reputation stands

What they say
What they think—
Does any of that truly matter?
After all,
They are no different from you

If what the world thinks
Matters so much,
How much more concerned
Ought you to be
About what God thinks?
