Hmm…a Des/Gabriel pairing that hit me out of nowhere like a ton of bricks. I've never written any Bill slash…or Bill fanfiction, for that matter, so I don't know how this will turn out. Heck, I don't even like Gabriel.
This was inspired by the scene with Gabriel saying 'It's all my fault. I should have listened to you.' to Des. I think it was in episode 148 or 149…somewhere there…
Warning: Boys kissing boys. Or should I say, men kissing men? It's all the same to me. If you're homophobic or have weird views on gay marriage, why the hell are you reading one of my stories? You sicken me…
blah is thoughts
'blah' is speech
PC Des Taviner drove in silence. He had been angry with Gabriel. But, the PC had been looking so depressed. So…lost. And then, they'd had to tell the mother.
'Look mate, everyone makes mistakes. You thought he was going to be okay.' Des tried to get through to Gabriel.
'I know. I'm just…thinking.' Came the quiet answer.
'Let's get some coffee.'
'Whatever…' Gabriel turned back to stare out the window once more.
Des pulled up to a McDonalds drive through and ordered two coffees. There were a few jokes about doughnuts. Then he drove the squad car to a nearby park and stopped.
The two coppers sat for a while and watched the people who were coming and going through the park,
'So…are you going to be okay?' Des asked after a long silence.
'Yeah. I'm just…it's hard to see something like that, you know? I mean, if we had checked the boot earlier, she might still be alive right now.'
'It wasn't your fault.' Des said again.
'But it was! If I hadn't convinced that teacher not to press charges…' Gabriel trailed off into silence.
'You didn't know he'd try to do himself and his kid in. Nobody knew.'
'You knew. I should have listened to you. I should have…' Gabriel broke off and began to cry.
'Hey! Don't cry, mate, don't cry.' Des reached out and awkwardly put his hand on Gabriel's back.
'It's just…I…' Gabriel leaned forward, face in hands and shook his head.
Des cautiously began to rub Gabriel's back.
'I should ha-have known he w-wasn't ready to go h-home.' Gabriel turned and looked at Des through his hands, 'How d-did you know?'
'Me?' Des stared at Gabriel, 'I didn't Gabriel. I just wasn't sure tha…' Des was cut off because Gabriel was kissing him.
Wow thought Des Where did this come from?
Des stopped thinking and let himself go. He slid his hand up from Gabriel's back to his neck and deepened the kiss.
'Mmm…' Muttered Gabriel against Des' lips, as they each lost themselves in the others' embrace. Finally, they broke the kiss and pulled away, breathing hard.
'Gabriel? I didn't know you were into that kind of thing…'
'There's a lot you don't know about me.'
Des grinned and pulled Gabriel into another hard kiss.
Just then, a call came through on the radio.
'All units from Sierra Oscar, all units from Sierra Oscar. Assault in progress at King James Park. Who can deal?'
'Shit!' Muttered Des as he pulled back from Gabriel and picked up the radio.
'Sierra Oscar from 432.' Said Des, using his own call sign.
'Go ahead, 432.'
'Gabriel and I are there. We'll deal, Kerry.'
'Right.' Their conversation was terminated. Kerry began to radio to inform them who was dealing with the assault.
Des and Gabriel got out of the car ad ran to stop the assault. They never spoke about the kisses again. Their coffee slowly went cold.
Mmm…short crappy story. None of the facts are right. Except Des' call sign. It really is 432. I checked. This was mainly written to break my writers block. Please don't kill me. Forgive me for the pairing. I hated it as soon as I wrote it. This should have been typed about 2 weeks ago. I had it written at the start of May. Well…it's still May…for a few more hours, at least. It's not my fault I don't like typing.
