MORBID CLOCKS
Everyone is born with a clock. Everyone is born with a clock attached to their wrist. This clock is set to go off when they meet the one. Their destined one. The one who is destined to cause their death. These are not love clocks, but clocks that tick down from the years to even the seconds until they will meet the one person who is destined to cause their death.
Alfred Jones had been searching for his missing brother for the past seven years. Seven years ago he found out that he was adopted and that he had had a twin brother. Finally he had managed to find his twin brother. They had talked on the phone and emailed back and forth some. They even sent pictures. Matthew William's picture showed a beautiful light haired blond with snow white skin. He was 19, well, they both were, obviously. What was really striking was the beautiful almost violet blue of his long lost brother's eyes.
Quite frankly, Alfred was bi and the guy would totally be his type if they hadn't been brothers. The other reason he was glad to have finally found his brother was because he didn't have much time left on his clock. Then again, there was no guarantee that the person who was destined to cause his death would do so right away. It was not uncommon for the deaths to be far removed from the meeting of the individual.
Matthew Williams was waiting at the airport in Canada to meet his brother. This would be their first face to face meeting. Francis had never actually told him that he had a brother, much less a twin. He wasn't angry at his biological father, but he did ask why Francis had given his brother up. Apparently, when Francis sex friend gave birth to twins they had decided to take one each. Francis said that he had initially tried to keep in touch, but she stopped communicating with him. Francis wasn't a bad father, but he had never intended to be a father and he was a little disinterested at times.
Matthew knew what Alfred looked like from the pictures. He had wheat colored hair and eyes blue like a summer's day. Alfred had moved around a lot, but had never been out of the US. They had talked a lot, but both of them worked and went to college so they hadn't yet had a chance to meet. Finally, the board showed that Alfred's flight had arrived. After a bit more time waiting a man started running up to meet Matthew.
Before Matthew knew what was happening he was being squeezed by an anaconda, no wait, this is an airport. This bone crushing grip must be his brother. His brother eventually released Matthew and looked him in the eyes. There was the sound of an alarm and a clink as a small clock fell from Alfred's wrist. They both looked down. Matthew started to tear up and back away. Alfred reached forward and grabbed Matthew's hand, not allowing the slender man to escape. He pulled Matthew into another embrace.
"I'm so glad to finally get to meet you. I've been searching for so long. I've got my bag, will you take me to your car?"
Matthew wiped the tears from his eyes and showed Alfred to his car.
