Spider-Man & Venom: Invasion of the Symbiotes

(Author's Note: Hey, BasilioBoy777 here. Here's another old assignment I found recently. This one here is from sophomore year, I think. This one was originally part of a graphics technology class, where we had to create a manual of some sort. I chose to make a video game manual, and this was the "Opening Story" section that you usually find on the first couple of pages or so. I based this idea on those old SNES games "Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage" and its sequel, "Spider-Man and Venom: Separation Anxiety." Again, it's here to show my progress as a writer over the years. Actually, I think it was pretty good, given the circumstances. I hope you do too. Later, True Believers!)

For untold millennia, the race of alien beings called the Throk-Tala, also known as the Symbiotes, have plagued countless peoples across an innumerable amount of worlds. The Symbiotes prey on unsuspecting organisms, assimilating with their vital body systems, thus assuming complete control over the victim's entire body. The Symbiotes then force their "hosts" to do terrible and unspeakable things.

Two of these Symbiotes exist on Earth: the ruthless criminal vigilante known as Venom, and the psychotic serial killer called Carnage. What makes these Symbiotes unique is that their "hosts," Eddie Brock and Cletus Kasady respectively, accepted the assimilation to form true symbiosises with their Throk-Talaian counterparts.

Kasady thoroughly agreed with the Symbiotes' ideas of mass slaughter and widespread destruction. Brock, on the other hand, decided to become a protector of the innocent, even an unorthodox one, thus betraying the Throk-Talaian code in its entirety.

For his "crimes of high treason," the Throk-Talaians dispatched five Symbiote warriors to seek out and destroy Venom. They were appropriately named Bloodlust, Mayhem, Malice, Chaos, and Toxin. After years of scouring the cosmos, searching for their rebellious sibling, they finally Venom on a small planet called Earth.

Upon their arrival, the first Symbiote that they sensed was the one named Carnage, not Venom. They sought him out in the maximum-security prison for insane super criminals called the Vault, located in the Colorado Rockies. They easily set Carnage free and inquired of him about Venom. Carnage was all too happy to assist his fellow brethren in going on another mass killing spree, so he led him to New York City, the last known residence of Venom.

Venom was completely overwhelmed by the insidious six Symbiotes, but they managed to escape with their lives. Venom knew that they couldn't survive another encounter with Carnage and the other Symbiotes by themselves, so they decided to seek help from the most unlikely of sources: their most hated enemy, the amazing Spider-Man. Now it's up to these uneasy allies to thwart Carnage yet again and put an end to this invasion of the Symbiotes!
