So I saw "Ted" a couple days after it came out, and I've been meaning to write this but I haven't had the time until now.

I hope you enjoy.

Thunder Buddies

I put down my pencil and stretched my back out, glancing at my alarm clock. It was nearly one in the morning and I was still up doing these freaking English questions. Shakespeare died like 500 years ago, why we had to read his plays was beyond me.

I glanced over at Jeff's bed. With the help of my bedside lamp I was able to make out his sleeping features. Whatever he was dreaming about had put a smile on his lips and the sight made me smile too.

I looked back to my homework packet. Four questions left. I sighed, cracked my knuckles and picked my pencil up again. I was in the middle of answering a question about "A Midsummer's Night Dream" when it happened.

The huge rumble of thunder crashed into my ears and I jumped, jerking the pencil across the page. I sat up, my heart thudding against my chest and a flash of lightning lit up our room.

I scrambled out of my bed and across the room to Jeff's. I lifted up the blankets and crawled in next to him, jostling him a little which caused him to wake up.

"Nick," He mumbled sleepily, "Whataryou-" But his words were cut out by another clap of thunder and he snaked his hand around my waist. "Oh." He pulled me against him and I pressed my face in his chest. I felt his breath on the top of my head and his hand rubbing up and down my back and my heartbeat slowed down.

"Jeff," I said after a few moments.

"Yes, Nick" He said.

"Thank you." I said to him. "Thank you so much."

"For what?" he asked, putting his hand on my hip to pull me back so that he could look at me.

"For tolerating me and this stupid, irrational fear. For not teasing me about – too much. For not telling anybody how scared I really am and how bad I get. For –"

"Shhhhhh," He said, cutting me off. "I do it because I love you and I love your flaws. And because it's just plain mean to make fun of you and to tell people behind your back. Nick," he said moving his and up to my cheek. "You don't need to thank me." I reached hand up and placed it over his, smiling at him. Then a clap of thunder sounded, my smile vanished and I clutched his hand.

"But someday when we're married, I'll tease you a lot more."

"When we're married?" I whispered, holding my breath.

"Well yeah, we are Thunder Buddies for life Nick," he said in a "duh" tone. Then he grinned. "Plus," he said in a whisper. "I love cuddling with you."

"Thunder Buddies?" I asked, immediately wishing I hadn't. I knew what he was going to do. He took a deep breath and I prepared myself.

"When you hear the sound of thunder, don't you get too scared, just grab your Thunder Buddy and say this magic word: Fuck you thunder! You can suck my dick! You can't hurt me thunder! 'Cause you're just God's fart!" And then he made a fart noise.

I rolled my eyes, just as lightning flashed again so he saw. "Is this going to happen every time there is a storm?"

"Yes," Jeff grinned. "Every time."

I sighed. "You are so lucky that you're cute." I told him. His hand was back on my hip so I place my arm over his, my hand resting on his shoulder.

"You love me," He said, as he always did when he teased me.

"I do," I murmured, rubbing our noses together.

Jeff closed his eyes, pressing a kiss to my lips.

I scooted closer to him so we lay with our foreheads and noses touching. I nudged his knee with mine and he picked his leg up, wrapping it around mine.

"I love you, Nick Duval," he whispered, eyes still closed.

I smiled and closed my eyes. "I love you, Jeff Sterling."

Wowzers. I expected this to be way more comical than fluffy, but I love it!
