Love or Lust

Love

Ed's hand shook as it went up to his lips.

Roy had just kissed him.

Both were soaking wet from running through the rain searching for shelter.

They found it in a derelict shack and were waiting for the rain to stop.

But now Roy had just kissed him.

Just like that. No warning. No prenatal signs.

Roy gently ran a hand through Ed's blonde hair.

"You look good with it long," Roy said, "never cut it."

"Roy?" Ed asked in a scared voice.

"Just tell me," Roy said instead of answering, "do you love me?" he asked Ed.

Ed's eyes filled with tears.

"Yes," Ed told Roy, "yes," he repeated and started crying.

Roy hugged Ed against his body.

"I never thought that you'd…" Ed said as he cried into Roy's chest.

"I thought you still had feelings for Winry," Roy stated.

"She won't talk to me," Ed said softly.

"I know," Roy responded.

"It's because Al let it slip that I liked you," Ed revealed.

Roy froze.

"When she next saw me she freaked," Ed said, "called me all sorts of names, saying I was a human abomination," he told Roy, "I tried to tell her that I was sorting out my feelings, but…" she said sadly, "she wouldn't listen, she didn't care," he finished.

Roy silently listened.

"So that's why she won't have anything to do with you?" Roy asked.

Ed nodded.

"Forget her then," Roy said surprisingly Ed, "you don't need those type of people in your life."

Ed nodded in agreement.

Roy suddenly took Ed into his arms. The surprised Ed nearly jumped out.

"Don't worry," Roy said good naturedly, "I'm not going to drop you, I'm not going to hurt you," he told Ed.

"Where are we going?" Ed asked nervously.

Roy smiled.

"I'm not going to rush you Ed," Roy told him, "we'll do it when you're ready."

"Can we just dry off and talk?" Ed asked twiddling his fingers, "they're things I want to tell you," he explained.

"Okay," Roy agreed and kissed Ed on the head, "I'm in love with you Ed Elrich," he reminded Ed, "that fills things just plain sex can't satisfy."

Ed smiled and kissed Roy lovingly on the lips.
