My feelings towards the fact that Taiwan isn't being allowed to use her own official flag and name in the Olympics. AND PRACTICALLY EVERY OTHER INTERNATIONAL EVENT!!!!!
Taiwan glared daggers at the elder nation. "You will not change your mind?" China sighed and kneaded his forehead with his fingers. "The matter has been settled, why do you still not give in, aru?"
The younger nation slammed her fist against the desk, causing China to jump in shock. "I refuse." The words were ground out from between gritted teeth. "HOW DARE YOU REFUSE TO ALLOW ME TO USE MY OWN FLAG? AND TO GO UNDER THE NAME OF CHINESE TAIPEI?!"
China sighed wistfully at the words. "Chinese Taipeiā¦," he murmured gently below his breath. "Do not forget, you are under my rule, Taiwan." His eyes stared down Taiwan, daring her to deny it. The girl balled her hand into fists, fighting down the urge to punch the man. Taking a deep breath, she stared defiantly at the elder nation. "No, I have not forgotten. However, that does not mean I am part of China, brother."
The last word was spat out in bitter anger. Resentment hung around her like a mantle. China felt a pang of agony pull at his heartstrings. He had not meant for this to happen. Taiwan was supposed to belong to him. Him, and no one else. Instead, all of his attempts to win her back only resulted in her hating him even more.
Taiwan stared at her brother nation. Although his gaze was cold and stony, she could not help but feel sorry for him. She knew why he was doing this. However, he must be taught that she belonged to no one. "Will you leave me as well, Taiwan?"
The words were spoken in a low bitter tone, tinged with sorrow and anger. Taiwan hesitated. She knew what China was thinking of. The day that Japan had betrayed him and the scar that left an everlasting memento of the incident upon his back. Standing, she turned toward the door. Stopping, her hand resting upon the doorknob, she spoke without turning around. "No, I will not leave you. Whatever happens, you will always be my brother. But do not try my patience, brother, or maybe I too, will leave you someday." Turning the knob, she left, the door swinging shut behind her.
China stared at the closed door, recalling her last words. A hint of a smile touched his lips. "I will see you at the Olympics, my sister."
End of story. This is my first shot at writing angst so please be gentle. Any feedback is welcome. Hoped you enjoyed the story.
