Office Pleasures

A loud giggle ran throughout the office and coworkers glanced up to find its source. They were met with the site of Dwight leaning over Angela's desk, a wide smile gracing her face.

Dwight was telling Angela a joke that the rest could not hear. However, they could see the carefree smile on Dwight's face and the uncharacteristic one that graced Angela's. Dwight continued with his joke and the two laughed again, a sound that was not at all displeasing to their coworker's ears.

They were used to Dwight laughing at his own jokes of course. Rarely did he go without feeling the need to make some comment about one of his fellow employees. However, they were not used to hearing Angela laugh so openly, so carefree. Angela was usually the uptight stick in the mud that they grew to get used to. She liked things done efficiently and for everything to go smoothly and without hitch. If you saw things Angela's way, then as far as she was concerned you saw them the right way.

So used to the serious exterior that they saw on a daily basis, it was strange to see her this way now. Strange though it was, it was not altogether unpleasant.

In fact Dwight and Angela's coworkers had been noticing a change in them for a while now. Angela often hummed to herself quietly when she thought no one was listening and had even gone several days without yelling at anyone. They also had begun to notice several changes in Dwight's behavior. He seemed more serious at times, not always needing to crack a joke or show up anyone.

These changes were so subtle that it took awhile for the rest of the office to notice. However, when they did it was clear to everyone what had brought on the change.

Dwight and Angela had feelings for one another.

They were sure of it and it was a topic of much gossip throughout the office. The women chatted about it and giggled when they spotted one of the unsuspecting individuals. The men joked about it to one another in the bathroom and made references that would make anyone blush.

The two people that were the subject of this attention however were oblivious. They continued sharing secret smiles and being unusually affectionate.

Nobody really knew if Dwight and Angela had gotten together yet but they all agreed that if they hadn't it was only a matter of time.

That fact was not unwelcome though, anything that had this kind of affect on two people that had such strong personalities as Dwight and Angela had could only be a good thing.

Which is why everyone was perfectly happy sitting back and letting it happen. As far as they were concerned if Dwight and Angela getting together would make for a better, more peaceful working environment it could only be a good thing.

So as they watched Dwight lean in to whisper something to a flushed Angela the employees at Dunder Mifflin thought that if they were happy, then they were all happy for them.

The End.
