"Your grandson is quite gifted in the Force…" The Jedi Master placed his cup of tea back on the table.
Georg placed his wrench down as he saw his two grandsons playing in the backyard. Ever since his son and wife perished, their parents, he took in Kalas and Fee.
Fee, being too young to understand was unfazed by what was going on. Kalas however, took it hardest. It was unfortunate to see his grandson grieve at such a young age.
The Jedi continued. "The way he was able to move objects at his age, he would go far at the academy."
Georg's insides sank when the words left his mouth.
'Academy'.
Kalas would have to leave for Coruscant. Though at the end of the day, it was Kalas' decision, whenever he wanted to go or not. Whatever Kalas decided, Georg would support him.
"Kalas…!" Georg called from the window as he motioned him to come inside.
The young boy was soon in the garage.
"This is Jedi Master Ewan," Georg motioned. "He has come to observe your… gift."
Ewan knelt to the ground and smiled. "Hello, little one…"
The young one's eyes began to shift away, though Ewan's gentleness helped ease the tension.
"Your grandfather told me that you were able to lift the bookshelf and the table set in the kitchen…" Ewan's smile was still on. "I'm impressed."
Kalas looked up at Ewan.
"Is that why you're here…?" Kalas began. "To help take this away from me?"
Ewan laughed. "Why, child, why would I want to take away your powers from you?"
Kalas looked to the ground.
"Everyone at school tells me I'm cursed…"
The Jedi's brow knitted. "Cursed…?"
"The shelves broke on the wall, and the books were coming down. Fern was under them, and with just my hands, I wanted to stop them from falling… and they were on the other side of the room. Ever since then… no one wants to play with me."
A long silence was in the garage.
"It's… very unfortunate no one wants to play with you anymore," the Jedi Master said.
Kalas nodded.
"What they said hurt you… but it does not define who you are."
Tears were in the young one's eyes.
"With your power, Kalas, one day you'll be a great Jedi."
