A/N – I own nothing! So do not sue. This is a one-shot that involves the wrestler Sting (who will go by his real name Steve Borden) and a character I made up. The bolded words are lyrics to the song "Goodbye Agony" by Black Veil Brides, which is also the title of this one-shot story! Enjoy. (:

Goodbye Agony

Heaven's gone, the battle's won,

I had to say goodbye.

Lived and learned from every fable,

Written by your mind.

Monica Kolb was having a stroll in the park, a park which brought many memories back into her darkened and saddened mind. The one who shared these memories with her was her boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend, Steve Borden. She knew he didn't care about these memories now. He moved on so quick, while after the four months of their separation, poor Monica is still completely and utterly heartbroken. She remembered when he took her here on their second date. They sat down on a bench, talking about their lives and such. She enjoyed that moment very much. And she thought the way he looked at her was a look of love. She realized that was far from the answer.

The look meant nothing.

Her demons have led her down a bad path these four agonizing months. No one seemed to see that but her. It didn't matter now. Nothing did. She didn't know what to do.

And I wonder how to move on,

From all I had inside.

Place my cards upon the table,

In blood I draw the line.

I've given all my pride…

"Mon?" She heard that very familiar voice call from right behind her. She flinched and turned around to see him, to see Steve right in front of her. "Steve," Monica said softly. Her heart was racing, her palms became sweaty. She didn't know how to react to him.

"How are you, Monica? I haven't seen you for quite a while." His voice always lit up her world, but this time it just couldn't.

"Oh, I've been good." She lied to him. She wasn't good, or fine, nothing positive. "How're you, Steve?"

"I'm amazing. My girlfriend and I have some news." He said, his eyes twinkling behind those sunglasses he always wears.

She looked up at him confused. "What kind of news?"

"We're getting married. I proposed last night." He said a smile on his face. Monica's world darkened even more. He proposed? This quickly? Damn, they were together for a year and he didn't once propose, but now in these short four months, he does? Monica couldn't handle any more pain.

Living a life of misery.

Always there, just underneath,

Haunting me, quietly alone.

It's killing me, killing me.

"Oh. Congratulations, Steve. I'm uh, happy for you." She lied, trying to keep her voice steady.

He nodded. "Thank you, sweetie." He sighed happily. "Well, I better get going. I have things to get done for the party tonight." His smile turned into a sad one. "We'll see each other around, right, Mon?"

She nodded. "Yeah, sure."

Steve gave her one last sad smile before walking passed her and down the park sidewalk. She watched him go as tears dared to escape her eyes.

She lost the one she loved to a girl who was better than her, as it seemed. But she had to learn to let go. To let go of him, forever.

Dead and gone, what's done is done

You were all I had become.

I'm letting go of what I once believed,

So goodbye agony.
