I've finally published this at last. I was meaning to upload it yesterday but something came up. Most of the time the story will be told from Tomoyo's point of view but every now and then it'll be in someone else's point of view and it can be first person or third person. I will update it through out the summer and it might be inconsistent but I'll try to update weekly.
Disclaimer: I do not own pokemon. I only own the ideas and story.
His heart was pounding as he walked up the aisle to the throne. Kneeling before Ghetsis, he closed his eyes and thought of his formerly abused friends. He would become the hero of legend and free all pokemon from their enslavers. He felt the crown touch his head and he opened his eyes. He stood up, turned around and acknowledged his subjects. "Soon dear pokemon," he thought, "I will make the perfect world for you."
Chapter 1
Dawn of a Journey
I was sitting cross-legged on my bed, with my lavesta in my lap, as I read an email from my dad. I had gotten my lavesta, Shanoa, from one of the two pokémon eggs my mom gave me. The other egg shakes and wobbles so much we put it in a basket so it wouldn't accidently hurt itself. My dad, by the way, works in Sinnoh researching riolu, lucario and their ability to sense the aura of other living things. I have similar ability because if I close my eyes and concentrate I can sense the presence of other people and pokémon. I think it also heightened my awareness of people and pokémon's emotions. Any way my dad's email was about a group of riolu and lucario living on the slopes of Mt. Coronet.
I felt a small prick of homesickness as I read the email. I was born in Sinnoh and lived there for the first seven years of my life. I miss the chilly yet crisp air and Mt. Coronet towering over us. The smell of pine and oak surrounding me as the wind stroked my hair. Even though eleven years have passed living in Unova with my mom and twin brother I still miss it.
Let me explain my brother before we go any further. His name is Touya, is the older twin, a practical joker, and he looks a lot like me except his eyes are brown like Dad's. He also has a weak body so under the doctor's orders, at the age of three and a half, he got a pokemon nurse, a blissey named Bliss (go figure). She was to make sure he didn't exhaust himself greatly and to take care of him when he got sick. Bliss was more of a nanny and playmate then a nurse.
Once when, he was six, he got 103-degree fever and had to be hospitalized for a month. The doctor decided that the cold climate of Sinnoh was weakening his immune system and advised our parents to move to a warmer region. Since Mom and Dad had grown up there they decided to move to Unova instead of Kalos because it was the most similar to Sinnoh. So my parents bought a house in Nuvema Town and our new doctor suggested Touya get a new pokémon nurse since Bliss was being taught new techniques so he got an audino named Joy. Dad decided to continue to work with overseas even though he wouldn't see Mom, Touya and I very often. He sends phone calls, letters, and emails constantly and also uses Skype to contact us as well. I was turning my laptop off when my twin slid into my room.
"Hey sis, Mom said Professor Juniper dropped off a box for you, Cheren and Bianca," Touya announced, "It seems to be the starter pokémon for your journey." I stared past him and into space. At a loss for words and full of conflicting emotions. I was excited yet sad since this would be a life experience that I wouldn't be sharing with my twin. Touya noticed my silence and seemed to know what was troubling me using that twin connection.
"Tomoyo," he said so seriously I immediately turned to face him, "Do the journey for the both of us." His warm chocolate eyes bore into my bright aqua eyes, mirroring crystal blue water meeting the promising river banks.
"I will," I promised. We stared at each other that seemed like forever only breaking eye contact when our mom called up the stairs that Cheren was here. My twin smiled encouragingly and walked out of my room. A few moments later I heard his bedroom door shut loudly. I sighed, returned Shanoa to her pokéball and bounced off the bed. I changed out of the sweatpants I was wearing into shorts that had a design on the bottom based on Reshiram's wings. I got the shorts mostly because of the Reshiram theme 'cause I love legendaries and the stories about them. Before I put my vest on I opened the closet door and looked at my reflection behind it. I had a good-sized chest and thick, silky chocolate brown colored hair that goes a few inches past my waist when it's not in a ponytail. My seventeen year old eyes, with the same colour blue my Mom has, gazed expectantly at me. I smiled, closed the closet door, put on my vest, grabbed Shanoa's pokéball and walked out of my bedroom, closing the door behind me. I started walking down the stairs. It was time to begin my journey.
A/N: The reason I renamed Touko is because I wanted to have a different name then the default name. Shanoa is the name of my favorite Castlevania protagonist and my B/W volcarona.
