Alex Russo was in full-on self pity mode. She knew she should have cared more about the fact that Mason loved Juliet and not her. And not that both Mason and Justin loved her. Juliet and not Alex. The tall, pretty, older Vampire and not little-sister Alex. Had they smelled that girls breath?! Ugh..
She clutched her blanket closer and thought back to that moment. How she had realized that she wasn't over Justin yet. How she was still insanely jealous of Juliet, and even more so now. Stupid Blondes. If Gigi hadn't bee enough..

UGH.

Justin had looked over with such absolute pity when Mason had fallen to his knees and.. well there was no need to get into the details. Justin had instantly known what she was thinking, and of course, he couldn't say a thing. In that fleeting glance he told her what she already knew, that he had the chance for a normal life, normal love, and as much as she wanted to, she couldn't provide that. But damn it. She missed him. She missed the stolen kisses and the I love you's that only they understood the deeper meaning of. She knew it was wrong, but doing the right thing had never really been one of her goals, had it? She blew her nose, rather loudly, and decided not to bother conjuring another box of Kleenex. Stupid boys. Alex had sworn that with Mason it would be different. She had gotten Justin, and whatever that relationship was, out of her system. She let herself love Mason, fall for that stupid, adorable British charm. "And look at what happened", she thought cynically. He declared his undying love [300 years? Really?] for Justin's stupid vampire girlfriend, not two feet away from Alex, and completely broke her heart. The one that hadn't completely healed from losing Justin.

But Justin had been her choice. She had told him to go to Juliet, sacrificed her feelings to let him be happy in a "real" relationship. One he could bring home to their parents. She was prepared for that heartache. This, this was a band aid ripped off without her permission, and Alex was not at all used to having things happen when she didn't want them to. Yes, Alex Russo was most definitely in full self pity mode, and the only thing that could get her out was too busy rejoicing that he found his lost girlfriend.
Sometimes never caring is the best way to go.
