Hey, my name is Lucky. Or at least thats what I go by now. I had another name once. I had friends, a family, I went to school you know, all the normal kid stuff, but that all changed the day Sarah crashed into my back yard. But I'm getting ahead of my self, I geuse I better start at the begining.
I woke up to the anoying screech of my alarm clock. Groaning I got out of bed and draged myself to my bathroom. Glancing in the miror I looked myself over, I was kinda short with shaggy brown hair and dark brown eyes. Over all I had kind of a dogish look, mabey thats why Sarah called me Lucky. Anyways I finished getting dressed and headed down stairs where I saw my mom and dad sitting in the kitchen. "Mornin son," my dad said not even looking up from his newspaper, I grunted in response and kept walking twords the door. "Dont you want anything to eat?" my mom called after me." "No thanks mom, I gota hurry or I'll miss the bus." which was a bull faced lie, I had at least another hour till the bus arived and the stop wasn't even a block away. But I didn't feel like sitting there and eating a normal breakfest with my dull, compleatly normal parents. I mean I loved them both, and they didn't fight much or mistreat me, but they were just so ordinary. Calling back a quick goodby I headed out the door and started for the bus stop.
I spent the next six hours bored out of my skull in the worst place in the world, school. I wont bore you with the details, but needles to say after six hours of listening to snobby teachers drone on about nothing at all, and having to make my way through crowded noisy halls, I was glad when it was over. "Mom dad, im home," I called throwing my stuff down on the couch. "Mom?" I called agin as I entered the kitchen. No one answerehbd, which was weird. I looked around and found a note stuck to the fridge. "Whats this?" I asked, reading the note, "'Dear son, your father and I had to leave for a few days. Your aunt has gotten ill and we are going to look after her. There is food in the fridge. Be good and we will be back in a few days. Love Mom.' Great, so I'm stuck here alone," I grumbled slinging my stuff down on the couch. Any other fithteen year old guy would be thrilled about having there parents gone for a few days. Any other guy my age would be calling up all their friends and planning a huge party. Well I wasn't any other guy my age, to me my parents being gone ment just that, my parents were gone and I was all alone. I sat there on the couch I fliped through the channels, fealing miserable, one thought running through my head. God my life is so dull.
While I was sitting there fealing bad for myself, like the selfcentered jerk I was, it happened, a huge crash from the backyard shook the house. Rushing through the back door I get a look at the damage. The fence in the back yard was shatered, pices of broken timber and wood splinters scatered all over, and there was a trench about seven feet long and 3 deep leading right through the fence. I looked around, searching for the cause of all of this destruction. My gaze finaly setteled on the mouth of the trench, the dust making it hard to see, and I made out a figure struggleing to stand up. As the dust finnaly settled I got a good look at the person in the hole and I could not help but gasp. In the trench was a girl about my age with long blonde hair and strange golden eyes and, even stranger yet, wings. Yes wings, they were brown and white flecked with bits of black here and there and had a span of about thirteen feet. I couldn't help it, standing there gaping, I blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
"Oh my God, an angel!"
A/N: ...not much to say seeing as this is the first chappy. Hope you like it, R&R.
