Alternate Ending
Emma's dress was a bright purple, her cheeks covered with streams of black. Her family was gathered around the dining table when she heard the front door slam open. In walked the person she wanted to see least right now, her new husband Spinner. He ran downstairs to her bedroom, and then turned around when he saw a glimpse of her long blonde hair.
"Emma! Look, I think I'm in love with you. But, I think we're rushing into this all so fast. They're reconstructing The Dot, it's going to take a lot of time and effort, but in the end it's going to be ten times better than how it was before. You can't build a restaurant in five days." He was leaning forward with his hand on his knee, out of breath. "As far as right now, I do want to marry you. But, stuff like that takes time. I'm willing to put in the effort, are you?"
Emma was speechless, and her whole family was looking at her in awe. After a long pause, Snake was the first one to talk. "Marriage? What? Your getting married?"
"We were going to get married this Saturday, on the beach. But now we're not." Emma turned around sharply, her hands crossed against her chest.
Spinner put his hand on her shoulder, and felt her exhale heavily. "If you want the wedding now, I'll still have it. I just don't want to rush into anything, if you don't feel like you're ready for it. Are you sure we'll both be able to take the wedding?"
"No, maybe you're right. Maybe we can postpone it another few months. I want it to be special for both of us." There was a little bit of edge in her voice, but when she turned around there was a hint of a smile.
"You're not having a baby are you? And that's why it's so sudden?" Spike had a worried look on her face, and a laugh escaped from both Spinner and Emma's mouths.
"No Mom, no kids any time soon. We just, sort of had a drunken wedding at a casino in Niagara Falls." Spike had a temporary sigh of relief, then another bout of panic set in.
"Well, are you going to hire a divorce lawyer?"
"No way," This time it was Spinner's turn to look shocked.
"So, you really want to go through with this? Are you sure?'
"I'm not sure, I'm positive. I love you Spinner, and it only took me two days to notice it."
"Maybe accidents do lead to great things." Spinner said, the happiest he had ever been in his whole entire life.
