((Remember how I said I had written a better version? I found it! I actually had ideas for all the characters, maybe I'll write more… I don't own Soul Eater! ))

Tsubaki Nakasuka stood outside her new school, taking deep breaths to calm her nerves. Her chest rose and fell steadily as she stood still in the ever-shifting crowd, being bumped into and stared at, but still, she stood, dazed by the banner hanging in the entryway. It had once read "Welcome, Freshmen," but in what she guessed had been a senior prank, the last letter in "freshmen" had been graffiti'd over so the sign now read "Freshmeat."

Would the Shibusen Academy be as bad as that banner indicated?

If she didn't find a friend, maybe it would be. Tsubaki felt so overwhelmed. Newcomers like herself swarmed all around. She didn't know who to approach, what to say, anything-

And then she spotted a familiar-looking boy with hair the color of the sky on a clear, sunny day. He stood atop a chair, delivering a monologue no one seemed to hear. She came closer, so she could.

"I am the great BlackStar! I will surpass the gods, that's how amazing I am!"

And if the memories of that name hadn't already brought a smile to the heiress's face, the former child star delivered a line that had made her clap and giggle whenever she heard it on the television when she was a kid.

"Yaaaaa-HOOOOOO!"

It wasn't as squeaky as it had been when Tsubaki was five, but it still made her laugh. BlackStar smiled at her, pride showing on his face.

"Would you like an autograph?"
