The Rainbow

Even in the darkest of days, the rainbow reminds us of God's eternal covenant with Noah and all humanity. A poem celebrating God's faithfulness, inspired by the Book of Books: "Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I (God) will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the Earth." (Gen 9:16)

The Rainbow

A rainbow

Giving the sky a pink glow

A bow of red, blue and yellow

Colors in the sky

A testimony

To the earth below

Letting its inhabitants know

There is still hope

They are not alone

There is a God above

A promise

Of a covenant renewed

A sign in the sky

A token to humanity

Proclaiming to the inhabitants below

Once more

The earth will be renewed

The rain flows

Teardrops from the sky

The heavens cry

But a rainbow breaks through

Giving the sky a pink glow

Letting you know

The creation will be renewed

Once more

The sun will break through

Smiling down upon you

A promise of old

He will not let you drown

Through all sorrow and clouds

The light breaks through
