Brothers

Summary: Ramses never consider it much after Moses moves in with his family. Even learning the fact he's the product from one of his father's rare affairs. They are brothers. There is still some of that lingering anger and resentment still.

Scribbling down an answer, twelve year old Ramses sighs finding the homework tedious and annoying. Outside he could hear the neighborhood kids' laugh and play. He wishes to be out there instead of indoors. Scowling a bit he flips the page in the textbook wondering why his teacher has to assign so much work. What is it during upcoming breaks that they add more work?

"Ramses!" The happy cry of his eight year old brother Moses as he runs into his room makes the older boy to give a small hint of a smile.

"Hey brat," Ramses greets.

"I'm not a brat," Moses grumbles before perking up again. "Want to play outside?"

"Can't."

"Oh, what about a board game?" Moses squeaks grinning hopping from one foot to other full of energy.

"Moses I have homework to do," Ramses said sharper than he intended causing Moses to take a step back and tears forms in his eyes.

"Sorry…" Moses leaves walking away sadly heart heavy hoping to gain a friend in his older brother before scrambling on his bed in their shared bedroom curling on his side facing the wall hiding the tears forming.

Ramses growls darkly feeling his temper wanting to rise. He looks at Moses.

"Kid I'm sorry."

"Hm," the soft hurt hum is the only response before the hurt boy asks turning his head. "Ramses why do you hate me?"

"What?"

"Why do you hate me so much? I know I just came to live here couple weeks ago but why?" Moses asks turning around completely, brown eyes shining with tears.

"I don't exactly hate you," Ramses growls clenching his hands into fists.

"Then why?"

"We may share the same father but different moms. Get it?" Ramses said looking at his notebook. "You are a…"

"Little brother?"

"Little half- brother," Ramses corrects earning a whimper and wince. "Moses, it's not that I don't like you. It's just I don't know what to think finding my dad cheated on my mom with yours okay. It pi-…it makes me mad. Just give me some more time. Other than I'll play with you after my homework is done."

"Okay," Moses whispers still feeling down but at least makes sense of the tension he feels from Ramses and Tuya for the past two weeks that they seem to hold for him.

He quietly gets off his bed to get some white paper and some crayons to do some drawing. He will wait patiently until Ramses is done. He wants the older boy to like him.

"Done," Ramses groans stretching his arms over his head before setting the homework aside to call Moses's attention. "Let's go outside brat."

"Okay!" Moses cheers hopping off and the two go outside where the snow continues to lightly fall and the lingering feelings still there but lessen at least a little.
