I've recently discovered a musician who has a YouTube channel called the Lair of Voltaire, and I have found poetry inspiration in many of his songs. None of these poems are finished, but this one is decent. This is the lyrics of his song "Almost Human" changed somewhat to fit the point of view of a Jinchuuriki. I tried to keep as true to the original rhythm and rhyme of the song as possible, but there might be couple changes in rhythm that will bother people. If this does occur, please tell me. I love this song, and I love adapting things to fit a new subject matter, so this seemed right up my alley. Enjoy.

(I apologize for the periods in between stanzas, but is being dumb and refuses to just let me put line break there, so I have to put an actual character, and the period was the least obtrusive one that I could find.)

What did I ever do, to you,

That you should treat me this way?

Is it really such a crime

To make a demon do it's time

And keep it safely at bay

.

What did I ever do, so wrong

That you should treat me as waste?

Though I love to live off trash, here,

I miss a mother's "I love you, dear"

A family's love and love's taste

.

I'm just like you

Made by he

Despised by they

I'm almost me

I'm nearly human

Look at me

I'm almost a human being

.

I'm just like you

Just want to be

Despised by they

I'm almost me

I'm nearly human

But don't pity me

I'm just a Jinchuuriki

.

I still remember her face

Mother's smile beaming down

Wearing her final gown

If I were a big boy

I wouldn't cry

But since I'm not a big boy

So I'll close my eyes

And picture what it's like

.

I'm just like you

Made by he

Despised by they

I'm almost me

I'm nearly human

Look at me

I'm almost a human being

.

These tears are real

I'm a murderer, I'm made of hate

To the core I'm mean

I'm nearly human

Look at me

I'm almost a human being

.

I'm just like you

I'm better than he

To hell with they

I'm becoming me

I'm nearly human

Don't pity me

I'm just a Jinchuuriki

.

Don't touch me

It hurts to even think of it

Now

Don't touch me

I don't have the strength for it

Now

Don't touch me

I couldn't bear the weight

Now

Don't touch me

And it won't reciprocate

.

Don't touch me

Touch me

Touch me

Touch me

Now

.

Don't touch me

I hope you had a fun time reading this. Try reading it with the song on, see if I got the rhythm accurately. As always, I'd greatly appreciate if you told me what you thought of this. I'm perfectly happy whether you say I'm an angel or whether I'm the devil, but I'm always curious what kind of poetry is well-received and what isn't. Have a nice day. -Theltaris
