It was a cold...fucking cold Sunday in December when Roger and Mimi just returned from a long night out. The couple stopped when they recognized something was different in the loft.
Both shared a confused look.
Was this the smell of warm, fresh food?
Quietly, Roger walked into the kitchen and couldn't believe his eyes.

Mark.
was.
cooking.

"What ya doing there?"
The filmmaker jumped a bit when he heard the voice of his roommate.
"Easy, buddy. It's just me." Roger chuckled at Marks reaction.
Mark always was jumpy, so Roger used every opportunity he got.
"Didn't thought you would be home so soon."
The musician tried to get a look at what the hell Mark was doing there, but his best friend pushed him towards the couch.
"Don't look, this was meant to be a surprise. Just go and make out with Mimi or something until I'm finished."
Mimi already made herself comfortable at the couch and had to giggle at Mark's comment.
"Yeah,Rog! Make out with Mimi!"
Roger pouted a bit, he really was curious what Mark was doing there.
He had to admit:
If it would taste like it smelled, this would be the best thing he'd ever tasted.

It didn't took long until Mark was finished.
Mimi and Roger sat upright when the filmmaker headed towards them, with two plates.
But the shoulders of the couple fell when they saw what ever Mark did there.
Roger held the plate in his hands, giving Mark a confused look.
"What the fuck is this,Cohen..?"
Mark glared back at him.
"Don't bitch before you tried . It's good!"
Mimi and Roger were staring at that...stuff on there plates.
It was...kind of yellowish and it was clumpy.
Well yeah, it looked a bit like vomit.
Cautious, Roger poked the stuff with his fork, when Mark cleared his throat.
"Just checked if this is really dead."
The rocker looked over to his girlfriend, which was brave enough to taste it.
"Woah,Mark! What is this,it's tasty!"
Hearing this, Mark gave Mimi a thankful smile.
That made Roger decide that he would give it a try and chewed a bit an the clumpy stuff.
Damn it,it really was tasty.
"Didn't know your roommate is able to cook,Rog."
"..Neither did I."
Roger shoved a bit more of it in his mouth.
"Seriously,Cohen. This is so good, I think my tongue just came." He said, his mouth still full of food.
Mimi giggled at Rogers comment.
"Spillt it,Marky! What is this tasty stuff? Something jewish?"
A bit embarrassed, Mark looked down at his feet.
"...Those were suppossed to be pancakes."

It was short and my first Rent fiction, but I hope you liked it.
Got the idea when I messed up the pancakes I was making and it looked really weird but tasted soooo good. xD Don't own anything, only the weird, messed up food. ;P
