AN- I haven't watched FMA in a while so there might be a few mistakes. Enjoy!

"What do you mean your not going?" Winry looked like she was about to explode.

"I mean what I said Win. I'm not going and you can't make me." Edward folded his arms over his chest and looked away from the pouting blonde.

The Elric brothers mostly Alphonse had asked Winry to spend the holidays with them in Central. Winry had not been there no more than an hour and she had asked Ed to take her shopping. With a sigh he had gone out and followed her around the city buying tools, clothes, and gifts for people back home.

After a good three hours of shopping the pair had run into Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye.

"Well I certainly did not expect to see you here Fullmetal. I can hardly see you behind all of those bags." Roy smirked as he look down at the short alchemist.

"Who are you calling short?!" Edward almost dropped what he was carrying in his rampage but a look of death from Winry made him settle for simply glaring at the colonel from behind the five bags he was carrying.

"Edward calm down the colonel never said anything about you being short." Riza smiled at Ed and look at Winry. "So, I guessing your going to be Ed's date for the Winter dance?"

Winry look at Riza confused, "What dance? Ed never said anything about that."

Ed sighed and sent a glare at the older blonde and then one at the giggling colonel.

"Well the department holds one every year mostly officials and alchemists go and I positive Ed got an invitation." Riza raised an eyebrow at Edward.

"You weren't thinking of not going were you Fullmetal?" Roy looked like he was having much too much fun and he was.

Winry was now looking fully at Ed a mix of hurt and anger in her face, "or were you going to go with someone else."

"No, if I wanted to go I would have asked you, but since I don't want to go it doesn't matter." Ed nodded a good bye to Riza, ignored the still smirking colonel, and started to walk back to the military dorm he and Al were staying at.

After getting back in silence Winry and Ed put their things away and we go back to where we started.

"I mean what I said Win. I'm not going and you can't make me."

"Edward Elric I want to go to that party and you are going to take me!" Winry huffed.

"And what makes you think that I will? I'm not your slave and I don't have to do what you say." Ed glared right back at Winry. He was not going down without a fight.

Just the Alphonse walked in, "Why are you two mad now?" the suit of armor looked from one blonde to the other.

"Ed won't take me to the holiday party being thrown by the department." Winry pouted as she looked at Al.

"Come on Ed you really should go and it would make Winry really happy."

Ed looked over at Alphonse, "And you Al? I don't want to leave you here to sit by yourself."

"I'll be fine. Mrs. Hughes invited me over for dinner because they're not going to the party."

"See Ed now you have to take me. You're out of excuses!" Winry looked triumphant over her accomplishment.

Ed sighed and he gave up, "Fine I'll take you to that stupid dance."

Winry jumped up and did a little dance, then suddenly she stopped, "Wait I don't have anything to wear and you don't either. Is it formal?"

Ed handed Winry the invitation, and after much hesitation his wallet too. As Winry walked out the door Ed put his head in his hands, "Ugh, I hate parties."
