Bobby paced he floor as he waited for his girlfriend Rogue to come in. He had asked to see her after she was done training. Bobby bit his lip as Rogue entered the room giving him a confused look.
"Everything alright Bobby?" Rogue asked tilting her head.
"Um, not really." He said.
"Hey, you can tell me anything." She said.
"So it's a sort of long story." Bobby said.
"Okay." Rogue said sitting down.
"I, um, you might've noticed that I've been a little distant lately." He said.
"Yeah I have." She said.
"Well I've been dealing with some things that affect us." Bobby said.
"What do you mean?" Rogue asked.
"I've never been very good at tuning out what people think. I've always cared how they see me and what they think of me. I, um, I had a long talk with Charles and a couple others because I'd been feeling things that I had been repressing. So the thing is um..." Bobby said trailing off at the end.
"You're leaving me for Kitty aren't you?" Rogue asked.
"No! Not at all!" He said quickly, "I am not leaving you for Kitty."
"Then what are you so afraid of?" She asked.
"I'm...I don't think I...it's possible that...I don't like girls." Bobby said closing his eyes.
"Are you saying you might be gay?" Rogue asked.
"Are you mad?" He asked stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Bobby why would I ever be mad about that? It doesn't matter to me." She said.
"Why not? You should be furious I wasted your time." Bobby said.
"Bobby this is kind of like being a mutant. It's how you were born and you can't change it. I'm not mad. I will always be here for you." Rogue said taking his hand in her gloved one.
"But I was with you for selfish reasons." He said as the tears started to build.
"Bobby it's okay. I promise. I am not angry or disappointed. I care about you and this isn't going to change that." Rogue said.
"What about everyone else?" Bobby asked.
"I can't speak for them but just know that I will always be in your corner." She said.
"You know I love you right?" He asked.
"I know Bobby and I know it's a different way but I'm okay with that. I'll have to get used to it but I can't change you." Rogue said.
"Thanks." Bobby said quietly.
"Hey, come on there's a movie viewing downstairs." She said. Bobby smiled and nodded, following her down the steps.
