Me: So it's like 1:30 in the morning and I'm just lying here blatantly ignoring the fact that I haven't even started the New Years Holiday Surprises chapter yet, but I need to write. And I was making an AMV and got to thinking about Nobodies. So here's what I've got.
Mims: Very deep reasoning…

Leon sat at the kitchen table, idly spinning his mug of tea between his hands and staring into its depths. In the background the shower was on, but Leon didn't really hear it. It had been going for so long it was just part of the atmosphere, an ambient noise not worth noting. The brunet snorted slightly at the thought. Really it should be all the more noticeable with how long it had been running, but instead he was starting to completely ignore it. Cloud had been in there so long, but that was to be expected.
Taking a sip of his tea, Leon turned his gaze out the window. The view was beautiful, or at least it would be once all the Heartless were cleared up. Living above the Bailey had its advantages, but at the moment they were hard to find. Leon wished that the grim reminder of why the shower was still on wasn't staring him in the face.
That afternoon Cloud had suggested clearing out some of the Heartless, making a dent in their population, and Leon had agreed. Killing Heartless wasn't so bad. They would vanish and leave no trace of their existence behind, the stolen hearts within them floating off to who knows where. It was also kind of fun for the seasoned fighters, a little exercise to keep them fit and test their reflexes. It was the Nobodies that were hard to fight. After all was said and done they vanished just like the Heartless, but they were more human and that's where the problem lied.
When you cut a Heartless it just got injured or died. When you cut a Nobody they bled. It wasn't human blood, it wasn't even close. They would give off this black liquid that almost immediately turned to darkness and floated away. That in itself wasn't so bad, but the smell was unbelievable. Fire and blood. It reeked of fire and blood. It hung in the air and clung to your clothes, following you around even after the Nobodies were all slain.
Cloud and Leon were fighters, trained and tortured to perfection, but they were still human. The smell of Nobody blood was something that got to anyone. Cloud would become silent and flinch away from human contact whenever it got on him. When Leon would ask what was the matter he would always just respond that it was a memory. Leon didn't question it, he had his own memories to haunt him, he understood.
The shower shut off and Leon looked up expectantly. Slowly the bathroom door opened, no steam escaped as the water had long since run cold. Cloud slowly made his way out into the living room, his sapphire gaze averted and focused solely on the bedroom. Leon didn't speak, only watched as the blond vanished into their bedroom, the door clicking closed behind him. Sighing heavily the brunet turned back to his tea. Taking a sip he grimaced. It had gone cold while he waited for his turn in the shower.

Me: that took 9 minutes to write and I do not feel the urge to do anything else about it. Just a writing exercise anyway. Please comment.
