My newbie journey began in Lumburgh. I was excited and ready to go as my outfit was smashing, my beard was looking good and all and all I looked the part of a Runescaper. Then came the tutorials of figuring out what to do and how to do it! I quickly learned how to run (actually run into things) and was all discombobulated with where I was going. After deciding to walk instead of run, I realized that I could use my map to direct me and the journal for suggestions. I spoke to a man who suggested that I go defend a fellow man that was being beaten by a goblin.
I reached the altercation without worry only to figure out I had not idea how to interject. After watching the man being beaten for a few moments I literally stepped inbetween the two and to my surprise started having a conversation with the goblin. I told him to be on his way and he listened with some resentment. I was given the task of escorting the man to Xenia. This took some figuring out but we finally made it. There, she healed the man and then asked it I would help her with a QUEST!
I had done it. I made it through the tutorials and was ready to put my big boy pants on. I entered the catacombs and needed to rescue IIona who had been kidnapped. My first altercation required a fistfight and after defeating Kayle and his sling shot, I took it. I then used the slingshot to defeat Caitlin who was trying to put a spell on me with her wand. Luckily may aim with the sling shot was too much for her. I chose to let her live while I did not do the same in my first scuffle. I at last could see the young girl who had been kidnapped but a man with a large sword guarded her. I used the staff to put a spell on ole Reese and then beat him with the staff. I'm not sure the spell did any harm but I was able to defeat him nonetheless.
IIona was rescued and I then met back up with Xenia. As I finish this journal, I'm ready to tackle my next objective. Now that I found the catacombs and have made my way out, I hope I can find it back to Lumburgh Castle?
