The Cute Book Worm

Ryo x Lettuce

Ryo was at the library for some research for a school project. Also an Essay. And History report on WW2.

Ryo had way too many things to do. At least he already knew what to do.

He looked for his books and got to work.

"That's a lot of books." Said a voice.

Ryo looked up to see a girl with green hair and glasses. (Cause glasses is the new sexy apparently.)

"Yeah. I have like three things due in two weeks." He said. She was cute.

"Would you like some help?" She raised an eyebrow. "No thanks." He said and went back to work.

"Okay then. If you need help...I'll...be over there reading." She pointed to the fiction side and walked away.

Ryo worked for hours. He looked over at the girl sitting across the way to him. He never saw her look up but he could see what book she was reading.

First it was, Cinderella.

Second was, Red Riding Hood.

Third was, Tom Sawyer.

And Now it was Adventures of Huck Finn.

She was a book worm. But a cute one at least.

Ryo shook his head and got up to take a break.

"Everything okay?" The girl asked.

Ryo sighed. "Fine. Just a lot of work. At least I finished my History report." He said.

"I never got your name. I'm Lettuce by the way." She said.

"Ryo." He told her.

Ryo went back to his work and he was stressing just a little. A LOT!

"Hey. Do you need a break?" Lettuce came over.

"No. I need to finish this so I can go home." Ryo said coldly.

Lettuce seemed sad. "Well. If you need a break...I'll be over here. The kids are coming to hear me read. So come listen if you want." She walked away with a sad expression on her face.

Ryo felt a little bad. She was just trying to help.

He heard her reading to the kids and they loved hearing her read.

"Miss! Read this on next!" Said a child.

"Alright. The Princess and the Pea."

Ryo heard that book before. His mother used to read that.

"What a childish book." He whispered before getting back to work.

Ryo works on his homework but...

"Then the queen tells her son of her plan. "I will leave this pea under her bed and if she feels it, than she is a real princess, but...if not..." Lettuce read.

Ryo listened in on the rest of the story.

"The princess got out of bed and looked under all the mattresses. "What is this?" Tell her."

"It's a pea!" All the kids said.

"Yes. "A pea? Why was this under my bed? I guess I'll just eat it. I was a little hungry anyway." Said the princess and so she ate the pea and went back to bed." Lettuce read.

She looked up over at Ryo and he looked away. Why was his face turning red?

Ryo didn't look over but did hear the rest of the story.

"And so the prince and the princess lived happily ever after. The End" Lettuce said. Closing the book the kids cheered.

"That's all for today. See you all next week." Lettuce said and saying bye.

After all the kids left. "How is the homework coming along?" Lettuce asked Ryo.

"Just fine. I'm almost finished." He tells her.

"I saw you looking over at the kids. Do you like to read?" She asks.

Ryo shrugs.

"I'm called a bookworm a lot. So I just wanted to ask. I'll see you later." Lettuce said.

"Wait." Ryo called. Lettuce stopped.

"Can you read my paper? I'm not good with Essays." Ryo asked.

Lettuced blushed.

"I'm not asking you on a date. Stop turning red." He said and handed the paper to her.

"T-than...Can we be...Friends?" She asks.

Ryo sighs. "Sure. You are helping me." He said.

Lettuce smiles. "Thanks!"

And the two spent the rest of the day reading and talking about books. Or Lettuce talked about books and Ryo gave his opinion.

"We should do this again some time." Lettuce said with a smile.

Ryo chuckled. "Whatever." He said. She still is a cutie bookworm. Ryo thinks.

The End.
