I do not own Fairy Tail. #lifeisunfair

"I'm in love with him", she whispered softly. "Completely and utterly".

She bit her lip anxiously, eyelids blinking furiously after her unbelievable confession. Her cheeks tingled and gave rise to a slight pink tint, unnoticeable to a passerby who had missed the earlier dialogue of the two female mages who had now come to a surprising stop.

After a busy week of completing two very challenging missions, a stroll through the tranquil streets of Magnolia had seemed like the perfect idea. A romantic confession was not something that had entered her mind but apparently these are things that one cannot exactly plan in advance. The past few torturous months had served to teach her that feelings of the heart cannot be defused or restrained by common sense. For such a long time she had awoken each morning with thoughts of him dancing malevolently in her head, the only comfort being that her unspoken thoughts could stay safely trapped away from the outside world. How could she express her feelings to someone else when she herself struggled to understand the desire that had grown inside of her? Every time he transformed into his ancient dragon form, whether in serious battle with a deadly opponent or during a jovial dual with a fellow guildmate, her heart rate escalated to a point where normal breathing is no longer conceivable. All that she is capable of doing at that time is stare heatedly in awe of him, patiently awaiting his next majestic move.

The splendor of his power had attracted her attention and at some point her heart had joined in the pursuit. She had known from the very start that it would be nothing more than a pointless affair since she had never witnessed the dragonslayer to be in possession of any romantic notions, especially none that were directed towards her. Lacking any sense of obvious allure with his numerous bodily piercings and the maliciously dark aura that he exuded, he deviated immensely from her idea of prince charming yet she could not deny the truth in her feelings for him. It was this unattended ache that had driven her to accept two missions in the span of just six days, desperately hoping that some distance would add some clarity to her confused state. Luckily for her, Mira had informed her that he had taken a mission in the next province and would not be back until the following week. She dismissed the immediate concern that had sprung into her mind and instead settled on optimizing on his absence by figuring out a way forward. When her best friend had suggested a picturesque walk through Magnolia to catch the last of the tangerine sunset, she readily agreed thinking that it would be the perfect distraction from her recent consuming thoughts. What she had not anticipated was an admittance of love and her subsequent inability to form coherent words.

Stunned and silent, Lucy looked away from Levi's blushing face and for the first time she allowed herself the freedom to be completely honest. She slowly inhaled an unsteady breath, all the while desperately searching for the right words. "Me too". However, unlike Levi's bold admission Lucy's own confession was silent and unheard.

A/N: I was having a slight he's the love of life moment when I wrote this. I'm hoping that it passes. Absolutely any suggestions and corrections would be gratefully welcomed xXx
