First Monster Allergy fic guys...here goes nothing.
"You're jealous."
"What?! I am not jealous!"
"Uhhu," Zick nodded, sneezing when Purrcy climbed onto his lap, making his cat-hair allergy act up.
Elena quickly but carefully grabbed her cat and placed him in her own lap. "Why would I be jealous? Lay is...nice."
"But?"
She glared at him and crossed her arms. "There is no but, Zick. She's nice, that's it!"
He grinned. "Come on, Elena, you know you can tell me anything."
"Can I tell you how stupid you act whenever she's around?"
"You said you weren't jealous."
"I am not!"
"Okay! Relax," he held his hands up in surrender. "I was just wondering, you always act so annoyed whenever she's around."
"Like I said, you act stupid," she grabbed a brush and ran it through Purrcy's fur, keeping her attention on brushing the cat instead of on the boy sitting next to her.
"I don't like girls who introduce themselves," he mimicked.
She glared at him and he backed away a little, just in case.
"You're one to talk," Elena commented. "What's your problem with Bobby?"
He looked away, suddenly finding the walls of Elena's room a lot more interesting than the conversation they were having. "I don't know what you're talking about." His face turned red.
"Sure you don't," she looked up at him for a split second before focusing on Purrcy again, hiding the smile on her face. "Hey, have you seen Puffy?"
"With your brothers," he answered. "But you really have no reason to be jealous, you know."
She rolled her eyes. "Don't start this again."
Zick smiled. "I know I get a bit distracted by her sometimes, but you don't see me running around and catching monsters with her." Or being so protective over. He silently added.
"Mhmm."
"I mean, Lay is great, but she's not you."
Elena nearly dropped her brush.
"You're my best friend, nothing's changing that."
Oh.
"I guess that makes it a little better."
He smiled and rolled his eyes. "A little?"
"Yep!" She dropped the brush, making Purrcy whine in protest. "It still doesn't explain why you act so stupid around her! Being stupid is more Teddy's thing, you know."
Despite her words, Zick knew he did something right. She was back to her bubbly and optimistic personality.
"Well-" His eyes turned red and he sneezed again, this time it wasn't because of Purrcy.
"Zick?" Elena frowned and looked around, normally when he sneezed a monster was nearby. But she couldn't see any.
His eyes slowly went back to their original color and he jumped up. "Come on, let's go."
She yelped when he grabbed her hand and ran towards the window. "What is it?"
"There's a Big Bonz Eater around here somewhere. We should go before it destroys anything else, you coming?"
"Of course I am! Hold on," she grabbed her backpack as Zick climbed out of the window. She quickly checked if she had everything before following him out.
"Oh, one last thing," Zick smiled and leaned forward, quickly kissing her cheek and grinning when she blushed and stuttered.
He did it, he actually managed to make Elena speechless.
"Let's go, he isn't too far from here," he grabbed her hand and dragged her with him; just to make sure she didn't stay outside of her house and frozen in place.
