Worthy of Love!
Just a short one shot
'Mr Agent Hotchner...' a little voice came behind him, tugging at his leg.
Hotch turned around to the girl with a small smile 'yes Zooey?' Hotch asked, bending down to her height.
'Thank you for saving me and my mummy' Zooey smiled 'your a hero'
'It's alright, its my job to save people' Hotch replied 'I'm not a hero'
'Yes you are' Zooey said adamantly, nodding her head 'you saved and protected me and mummy from the monster that tried to hurt us' she said quietly.
'It's alright' Hotch said with a small smile, her words meant a lot to him.
'I'm sure everyone you've saved are thankful Agent Hotchner' Ellie, her mother said to her.
Hotch nodded in return not knowing what to say to that and that was fine because she didn't expect him to say anything.
Watching them go, into the ambulance Hotch sighed, hoping they would be okay. He turned around when he felt a soft, gentle hand on his arm, he looked at Emily, who smiled at him softly. 'Zooey's right you know, you are a hero' Emily told him softly before walking off towards the car.
Hotch sighed but smiled a little as he shook his head, standing there for a moment to collect himself before he walked back to the car.
In Zooey's mind, she sat in the ambulance as the paramedics checked her over, her mom holding her hand the whole time, anyone that protected her, like Agent Hotchner did, was a hero. Any man that protected a little girl from monsters was worthy of love because he was a good man, he was brave and did everything he could to make the world a better place.
He could have been broken inside but if he was, he didn't show it.
Agent Hotchner was worthy of love and she hoped that someone told him and showed him that.
