Sorry, I know in theory this is late, but my internet was having an off month! I could go on dA but not upload anything on to here for some reason! Couldn't even get on sometimes! So enjoy-
Mello sighed as another fire work exploded.
"I don't believe it!" he said again going around Matt's bed and flopping onto his own,
"What?" Matt asked coming out of the bathroom,
"Its new years, and we're stuck in here at…" he paused as he checked his watch, "half eight!" he finished,
"Well, that's Wammy's for you" Matt replied pulling on his jacket,
"Where you going?" Mello asked he watched him walk to the window,
"To watch the fireworks, you coming?" Matt asked flinging the window open and swinging a leg out,
"Yeah, course" Mello replied grabbing his jacket and following…
Matt and Mello sat on a hill not far from Wammy's watching each bright explosion,
"There, that better?" Matt asked pulling off his jacket,
"Not much" Mello replied,
"Well why not?" Matt asked back pulling out a cigarette,
"New Years isn't just about the fireworks Matt, it's about…"
"Saying goodbye to the past year and staying up too late?" Matt asked,
"No, getting wasted and not remembering any of the bad stuff that happened" Mello corrected,
"Of course" Matt laughed, "Well, suit yourself, I'm having a nice time"…
Hours later the two boys were almost back at Wammy's, Mello wore Matt's jacket under his own to protect his sensitive skin from the bitter cold. As they got back to the West wing wall of Wammy's Mello's watch beeped loudly,
"That's it, New Year's" Mello sighed as Matt put his boot to the bottom of the drain pipe, "There's not even any hot girls at Wammy's to kiss" as he said this Matt grabbed the front of his leather jacket and pulled him into a kiss. Mello's eyes stayed wide open in shock as it happened but he soon subsided and kissed back, enjoying the taste of Matt. They kissed so fiercely Matt's back collided with the wall of the orphanage. Mello slipped his cold hands under his shirt as they continued to kiss passionately. Matt's breathe hitched and the kiss stopped long enough for Mello pull off his shirt. After another minute the kiss stopped and they both stood there in silence with nothing but heavy breathing to be heard, suddenly Matt laughed,
"I'm freezing Mel's" he said opening his eyes,
"Sorry" Mello replied hugging Matt close. He laughed again kissed the top of Mello's head wrapping his own arms around him,
"Happy New Years"…
