CHAPTER 1: Deceit

While all of the Konoha laid resting or away on missions underneath the full moon, two traitorous men met with plans to take control over the powerful fire nation. Their meeting place was simple; a small one room building possibly used for training at one point in time now left abandoned. By the light of a lone candle they sat to discuss their further course of action.

"Your poison has been working quite well in the Konoha. All of the coughing and sneezing spreading around the Konoha is proof of this. And I see the assimilation is complete as well correct, Kabuto?" the soft light danced around the bandaged features of the old man's face as he spoke slowly and collectedly.

"Yes, sensei, all is going according to the plan. Now that I have Orochimaru's jutsu combined with my own…the time has nearly come to make our move."

"Your army of reanimated corpses are nearly flawless, however…the messenger I sent to you and Orochimaru…there is a problem with that one."

"A problem?" Kabuto's questioned intrigued.

"Yes, it seems he has begun to recover some of his memories. You understand what that could mean for our plans, don't you?" Kabuto nodded his glasses gleaming wickedly and Danzou continued, "Before moving any further we should eliminate him before he recovers them fully. It would be disastrous to our cause if he made the rest of the Konoha aware of our plans."

"I would take care of him myself, but I did run into several leaf nin on my way here. I gave that kyuubi kid a bingo book of all the information Orochimaru and I collected pertaining to the Akatsuki. I also gave them quite a scare by showing them the piece of Orochimaru still left in me, just for fun. I am sure that their target is Itachi…he would be their only solid means of getting to Sasuke at this point, so it makes sense. Running into both leaf nin and Akatsuki when we are so close to our move would be very troublesome. Besides…it would be more fitting to send…him."

"You fool! Sending the one person that boy actually cared about could cause him to regain his memory more rapidly! In addition…his brother could regain his memories as well and then we would have two threats."

Kabuto paced the room with a disturbing smile on his face, "You know, that could be useful. Think for a minute. Suppose we implant false memories into Sai's brother…when they reunite undoubtedly they will talk. From a psychological standpoint this could cause Sai to believe in the false memories as well. Above all we must give Sai's brother an objective that will bring Sai back to us."

"There's an idea, do whatever you feel will work best in relation to our immediate goal. Now then…I must be getting back to that problematic Fifth before morning to keep her from being suspicious of my whereabouts."
