Yo! So, ScaredToDeathYaoi finally convinced me to post this. It's one of my first fics. It's a several chapter story, so expect more.
Note: This is rather old. I've gotten better at writing since I first wrote this, so please keep that in mind. Also, someone please clear it up for me what sounds foxes make.
Forest-speak is usually just a few words, like "Fire" or "Food That Way", so it's rather simple. All animals speak Forest-speak instinctively.
Please R&R, and please enjoy The Fox and The Raven. *Pulls back curtain*
A light summer breeze ruffled the forest's leaves. A raven with a white four-pointed star on his chest fluttered down to the top branch of a tall tree. From his perch, he could see all of the forest. Hearing a grunt, he looked down and saw a fox's snout in the clearing bordering his tree, the rest of the fox's body obscured from view by foliage. Curious, he glided down and nearly lost his breeze when he saw that the fox had five tails. The right-most, middle, and left-most tails were white with red tips, the other two red with white tips. He was red-furred, except for his white paws, the tails, and a white sunburst on his head.
Surprised, he landed and decided to change forms. The white star on his chest spread as the feathers melted back into his skin. His wings faded from their vibrant black to an ivory white and began growing in size and length as his legs underwent a similar transformation until there was a pale boy standing by the fox. He had hair the same shade as his bird form's feathers and onyx eyes the darkest shade of black. The boy quietly walked over to the bushes on the edge of the clearing and pulled out the clothes he had hidden there previously. He dressed as quietly as he'd walked, so that the fox wouldn't wake prematurely.
Finally, fully clothed in a dark blue shirt with a cartoony fan on the back and pale cream shorts, he walked back to the fox. After watching it sleep it sleep peacefully for a moment, he reached out one hand and began stroking its head. It tensed for a moment, then relaxed and started purring lightly. After a few minutes, the fox moved away from that gentle hand and, sitting up, opened his eyes. The pale boy gasped. This strange five-tailed fox had beautiful blue eyes, as clear as a mountain spring's waters.
Recovering himself, the boy asked in Forest-speak, "You...Morpher...Yes?" The fox nodded. "Then...change. We talk...then." The fox's ears flicked in aknowledgement before he ran from the clearing, tails flowing gracefully behind him. The pale boy waited several minutes, then smiled when the other came back. The fox-morph had spiky blonde hair and tan skin, with whisker-marks on his cheeks. He was wearing an orange-and-blue jacket and baggy orange pants. Striding across the clearing, the darker boy plopped down in front of the pale one. "I'm Naruto," he stated. "Sasuke," the raven-morph replied.
After a few moments of silence, Sasuke said, "I've never seen you here before. Are you just passing through?" "No, I'm here to stay. I had to leave my previous home because..." his eyes clouded. "Because...I had to leave my home." Sasuke looked at the boy before him questioningly, then decided to leave it. "Well, since you're new here, I'll show you around." Naruto brightened. "Thanks! I'm sure I'll like it here!" "I know you will."
...Aaaand that's it for this chapter. See ya next time! *Poofs*
