Airports were not made for comfort. I corrected my bag and gave a tight smile to the seemingly hundredth person to barge into it. Determined to make my way peacefully, and successfully, onto the plane I carried on with a brisk pace despite the impractically shoe boots on my feet. Until I made it to the plane, I wasn't safe.

Everybody knows if you're going to run you've got to run quick and never look back. I wasn't going to allow even the slightest window of opportunity for what I'd left behind me to catch up.

Some things are unforgettable, but that doesn't mean they have to stay with you, nor you with them.

Stopping just before boarding I scanned the scene I walked through. Satisfied I could move on to figuring out how to settle into small town life in Forks,Washington, I turned my back on everything I'd known before.
