I apologize in advance. Also, second Author's note at the bottom contains spoilers up to chapter 50 of the manga.

"I feel so… cold."

Those were her last words.

They spent her final moments clinging to each other, trying to keep her warm. Her embrace was painful to him, hard and desperate, and he knew his was the same.

Finally, her grip slackened, and she became dead weight in his arms. Cold, dead weight.

If anyone could survive getting their leg bitten off, it was Mikasa. That just meant nobody could survive getting their leg bitten off.

At least… she died smiling?

They had to dump the bodies again.

He refused.

He was taking this body home no matter what.

He stared the captain right in the face, his heart cold as ice, and bit into his hand.

Fifteen meters tall, Eren faced down the group of Titans racing to him. He wasn't backing down. He wasn't letting them take her like they took everyone else.

He roared out his challenge.

It was deeper, louder, and more powerful than any sound he'd ever made.

They did not accept his challenge. They turned away.

He took his scarf back before they buried her. He wanted her to keep it, because she was cold now, would be cold forever. But he knew she would want him to have it. Because he was so cold without her.

She would want him to live. She would want him to fight.

And he would.

Since then, His Titan form had the skin of its neck stripped away.

Bertholdt was first. Eren's original intent was to mash him to paste, but his opening strike had missed him and only gotten his leg, allowing him the time he needed to transform. Eren wasn't having any of that.

He rose all fifty meters into the air with one powerful leap. This wasn't going to take long. The skin around his hands hardened as they connected with the Colossal Titan's neck, slicing through and evicting Bertholdt from his position.

By the time Eren landed, Bertholdt had been bitten clean through.

Eren chewed him up well before spitting him out on the cobblestone road.

Reiner was next. If anything, he stood even less of a chance than Bertholdt had; Eren just had to twist the Armored Titan's neck off to get to him.

He bit through the armor anyway, just to prove he could.

Eren ate him feet-first.

The true manifestation of humanity's anger had risen.

Nothing stood in his way.

For her sake, at least, nothing ever would.

I actually wrote this piece before it was revealed that Eren had the ability to command Titans; I had it up on tumblr for a while and decided to put it up here. It was just a prediction that came true, it looks like.
