A/N This short poem is for Percy and Annabeth. I don't know how this happened from a poem about death and suffering but it did. Then again whenever I think of evil things in my head and try to write them down they always become happier...not that this poem is really happy since its implied that Percy died...

Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson.

The footprint in the Sand

The tide came in,

Washing away,

As if to bring him back to what he sprung from,

Like the cycle of life,

As he danced with forgotten magic to the beat of the waves,

Becoming one with what he loves,

"But what about my love?" she cried,

As she reached out to grab what can't be held,

The water slipped through her fingers,

Sweeping away,

With the pull of the ocean,

The last remains,

Of a now forgotten soul,

Leaving a smooth surface

And bittersweet memories

Pulled underneath the endless ocean

;the footprint in the sand.

A/N It may seem like a missed a few commas but its supposed to be like that as well as the semi-colon and the capitalization. Its all in the art of a poem. So no reviews about my grammar! :P But few free to review on the feel and flow of it, like if some parts are a bit off, repetitive, or just don't make sense.
