Entry XXX

It's been a week since I retrieve this book from the Princess. After finding the eraser to wipe out all the doodles on this book without erasing the scripture itself, I've finally delve myself unto the book. I have read it through all of the entries and found out the truth of this world that I live in. Still, it does not mean I have a way to go back.

To be honest, I doubt I'll ever plan on going back there again. The old world is dead. It's been dead for a thousand years now, yet life still spring from the war. Of course, not in a form humans from my time would be used to, but life nonetheless.

I still miss them. My family, my friends.. Martha... But I guess I have to find my own way to live in this new world. At least, I'm not facing going through this alone.

"Hey Ken, Whatcha writing?"

Ken looked behind to see the owner of the voice, a human male wearing light royal garbs and spectacles. Not human, changeling, Ken corrected himself. The soldier put down the pen and closed the book. "Just writing an entry, Atlas." Ken responded.

"Well, stop what you're doing...which you've already," The Changeling Prince pointed out, "And follow me outside. Finn and Jake got a quest and you could use the exercise!"

Ken smiled. He look towards his back, then back to his friend.

"Fine, but between you and me, I think you need more of the exercise."

"ME? Dude, have you seen me? I'm gorgeous!" Atlas responded.

"I doubt gorgeous is the word. Maybe socially adequate."

"Ho-ho-oh, you're threading on dangerous waters, my friend."

"I'll take my chances," the soldier bantered back, "Now, are we going to stand here all day or are we doing a quest?"

"I'm waiting for you, aren't I?"

The two exited Ken's room to meet up with Finn and Jake outside. A gush of wind entered Ken's window. The wind breezed towards Ken's book, which flipped open to a page. It was Ken's first entry.

Entry 1

My name is Ken. I was a soldier that took part in World War 3. But that was a thousand years ago...

AN: So, here's my first ever Adventure Time Fanfic that i've been wanting to write but never could come up with a proper storyline, so i'm just throwing it out there. I'm still working on my El Tigre fanfic (which I could use the feedback btw) and hopefully I could get the third chapter done sooner or later. For now, Enjoy~
