"Wow look at this traffic." Jackie told Nick as she was driving.
The whole family was on their way to have dinner at her parent's house.
Jackie's mom had called her and told her she had made spaghetti for dinner and invited the family. Jackie loved her mom's spaghetti so she jumped at the chance.
"This is crazy, we might not get there." Nick told her as he looked around at all the cars.
It was currently bumper to bumper traffic.
The kids were being very good, just sitting in the backseat quietly.
"Sing mama." Jasmine told her suddenly.
"Alright, that is a good idea." Jackie told her as she turned on the radio and started singing along to the song that was playing.
The kids giggled and were having fun listening to their mother belt out a tune, singing worse than normal on purpose just to make her kids laugh.
The things you'll do for your kids. Jackie thought to herself amused.
Even baby Sloan seemed to be entertained by his mother, he had a very sweet grin on his little face.
Nick started singing along, wanting to join in on the fun.
"Dada no sing." Jasmine told him from the backseat.
"I can't sing? Why not?" He asked, slightly offended.
"You not know the words." Jasmine replied.
"I do to know the words." He argued.
"No dada." She told him.
Jackie looked over at Nick and grinned.
"Well then I guess I'll just look out the window." He mumbled, partially hurt and partially insulted that his daughter didn't want him to sing along.
"Don't feel bad Nicky, I'll let you sing to me tonight." Jackie said, looking over at him with a grin.
"Oh yeah, is that the only thing you'll let me do to you tonight?" He asked, as he grinned back at her.
"Probably." She told him.
He frowned, that wasn't the answer he'd been hoping for.
Finally after sitting in traffic for nearly a full hour the family arrived at Jackie's parent's house.
They enjoyed their dinner and Nick loved spending time with his family, even if Jasmine was a little stinker.
When they got home that night Jackie was true to her word and let Nick sing to her, but unfortunately for Nick that really was the only she would let him do.
