A/N: This is just a cute George/ Luna story that I wrote awhile ago. I want to dedicate it to somebody, so I'm going to dedicate it to... Muggle Jane! She appreciates this pairing as much as I do. Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
George Weasley was doing inventory when he saw somebody move outside out of the corner of his eyes. Who would be outside when it's pouring out? He wondered to himself as he glanced around the store. Fred was on the other side of the store, and George made sure to check for customers before he went outside.
A grin appeared when he realized that the person was Luna Lovegood. The girl he had a crush on. He watched her for a second before he approached her. She had her eyes closed as she wore a dreamy expression. He thought she looked beautiful then, but he also was concerned that she would catch pneumonia being out in the rain too long.
He moved closer to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Luna glanced over at him, but simply smiled when she saw him. "Luna, what are you doing?" George asked, as a chuckle escaped his lips.
"I was searching for puddles to jump in. Daddy's at a meeting, and I wanted to play in the rain during it."
George ran a hand through his hair as he reached for her hand. "Come on. Let's get you inside, crazy girl," he said laughing softly.
A mischievous smile spread across Luna's face, and she shook her head. "Not until you dance with me," she said bluntly, swinging his hand back and forth as she lead him to the middle of the street.
George's eyes widened. "We can't dance in the rain. We'll get sick. I'm working too," he added, though his excuses sounded lame, even to him. Dancing with Luna did sound more appealing than working on inventory.
It was Luna's turn to laugh this time. "Come on," she said coaxingly. "Where's your sense of adventure?"
George hesitated for a moment before he followed her out to the middle of the street. "I'm not a very good dancer," he warned her.
Luna's eyes sparkled as she grinned. "That's ok. You can just imitate me," she said as she slowly lifted her hands up in the air and twirled.
He stood there for a second longer, watching her for a second before imitating her moves. Before he knew it, they were twirling, jumping and laughing as each move grew sillier than the rest. George suddenly grabbed Luna's hand and pulled her close to him as he began to sway with her. Slow dancing was something he was confident about.
"Hmm… this is nice," Luna murmured as she stepped closer toward him.
George smiled as he looked down at her. He couldn't help but think that she looked so beautiful in the rain. He lowered his head and kissed her gently. Luna's smile grew even dreamier when he pulled away.
"Let's go inside now," she said kindly, and George couldn't help but laugh. Now she wanted to go inside. He shook his head as he followed her inside.
"Hello Luna," Fred said in an amused tone when they walked in. George glanced at his twin. He could tell Fred had seen everything by the way he was staring at him. He shook his head again. He knew he was going to have a lot of explaining to do later.
