A small one shot from Gale's POV:

Reaping day she had been so beautiful; her blue dress, although old, giving her the appearance of a goddess. She fills up my heart and my mind. And I love her.

Sometimes when we are hunting I will hang back for two seconds, just so I can marvel in her beauty. To me she is better than those town girls, giggling about boys and clothes, she is my Katniss and I will never, ever let her go.

I can still remember the day we met, she seemed so young and yet she held herself like a huntress, like a warrior. Back then I wouldn't had thought of her in the way I do know, she was far too... Innocent seeming. And in some ways she was innocent, I don't think she even realised that boys were the slighter but different until she was fifteen years old, and even then she didn't care. She didn't have tone to care, but I did. I loved her as a sister then, maybe as something more but I hadn't noticed, I was so stupid before.

"Primrose Everdeen" I hear our escort call out. It just can't be happening. Prim only had her name in there once: once. She can't survive in there, she's just twelve.

I look over to the girls section for Katniss and she looks so dazed, but she runs over. Chasing Prim as she walks down to the platform and I run after her. Oh no. Oh Gods no. In a moment to crushing for me to even bear I've lost her. The girl with the plaits will leave an my world will crumble without you.

I love you Katniss, I hope you know this.
