Our life has always been had, our parents died after we were born. Nonno had to take care of us, and what we are didn't help growing up easier. But it might help you understand our story better if I started at the beginning.

Mamma was a high school student, final year. She had always worked hard for everything she got, and she lived with Nonno in the city. Life was good for her and Nonno. Mama was planning to go to a really big collage in Italy, where only the best of the best could go. Nonno was so proud of her. She worked a part time job after school to raise money to move closer to the collage when she finish high school.

One day when Mamma was about to walk out of class she saw someone standing by the open window. He was a tall man with red-brown hair and green eyes. He looked to be about his age, maybe a year or two older. She smiled at him and he flinched, his face turned tomato red. Mamma just laughed and waved. Then he took off like he saw a British person. But that wasn't the last time she would see him.

When Mamma got out of school, she always saw him helping the bambino get up when they fell on the ground and tossing the ball back to them if it came his way. But he always kept his distance. After a week Mamma finally came up to him.

"Ciao, Signore." She said with a bright smile.

"Umm... C-Ciao" He said skittishly.

"I'm Agnese Vargas. What's your name?"

He blushed but hid his face with his hair. Then he said "I-I'm Leonardo Adolpha."

Mamma smiled again and said, "You must be grateful to have name a like that, Leonardo. It seems like it fits you."

"Grazie," Leonardo posed for a second and looked up with a smile, "bella."

Agnese blushed but kept her smile and giggled a little, "Grazie, bello."

Mamma and Leonardo were best friends the second they met. Weeks went by and they started dating, in a way. It turned out that Leonardo, or Leo as Mamma called him sometimes, dropped out of school to get away from his aunt's house because she hated him and use to beat him for no reason. Agnese loved to talk to him and told Leo everything, even how her mom died when she was about seven. The pair of Italians spent every afternoon they could together. Soon they started dating.

Nonno had no idea they were dating, but he did notice the large amount of time Mamma spent out of the house and the way her grades were starting to drop. He started asking Agnese where she had been but she just told him she was out with a friend, which was true in a way. Nonno trusted her, so he left it at that, but he still worried.

After months of dating the two spent every day together and moving into an apartment together. Nonno didn't like it when she move out and found out she was dating and living with Leo. Also to Nonno's disappointment Mamma was not going to college and she just had a full time job at a small corner store. This was hard for Leo, because he had a secret that was difficult to hide. But tonight, Leo told himself he would tell her the truth.

That night, Leo took Agnese to the park and waited until they were the only ones left in the park. The night was dark, and it was lit up by half a moon in the sky. Leo brought Agnese into the part of the park with a lot of trees, it was also the place they had their first date. The tree leaves were beginning to change color for fall; orange, yellow and brown leaves covered the trees.

"Agnese, there is something I need to tell you…" Leo's voice was a little shaky as he spoke, but he sounded more serious then he normally did. He did his best to keep calm, he could be very emotional at times.

"Sì? What is it, mio amore?" Agnese was very confused, but she gave him her usual smile. Her dark brown hair looked black in the dim light of the night, but her light brown eyes still shined.

"W-well I… I have to tell you something I should have told you a l-long time ago…" He was still unsure of telling her, but if he didn't she would mostly likely never want to see him again. Even with that chance, it would be better to lose her now and maybe be friends latter then to have her hate him forever. "I-It would be easier to show you," Leo stepped back and Agnese watched as his skin was began to cover itself in fur and face became pointed, like a wolf. Agnese just watched without flinching, but surprised. She couldn't say anything. "This is what I really am, a monster…" Leo looked down in shame of what he really is.

Agnese smiled sadly, "What's the matter, amore?"

These words shocked Leo, "Y-you mean you're n-not scared, you're not going to r-run from me, call me a freak?! L-Leave me…?"

Agnese just laughed a little, and pulled him close to her in a hug. "Of course not, Leonardo. I love you. This is a surprise, but that doesn't mean I hate you. I'd love you if you had a big bird beak or weird snake skin. I love you for you, Leo. Not for what you are."

This brought relief to Leonardo, but even more it made him happy. He told her everything he could about his wolf-self. The attacking people and changing on the full moon stories were just myths. She was the only person he had ever told, and it was one of the reasons he dropped out of high school. The fact didn't matter to either of them anymore. That night the two where undressed in their apartment, happy to be together, and they showed their love.

A month later, Agnese started getting sick. This scared Leo, he stayed by her side every moment he could, but also picked up over time at the moving tuck place he worked at to help keep them up on their apartment rent and food coast. The longer Agnese's sickness went on the more worried Leonardo became worried.

One day while Leo was at work, Agnese went out and bought a pregnancy test at the store next to their apartment place. When Leo came home she asked him to look on the bathroom counter with her smile that never seemed to go away. Leo looked and yelled in surprise and running back to her.

"You mean?!"

"Sì! Isn't it a wonderful?!" still smiling Agnese hugged him.

"This is fantastico, mio angelo!" Leo picked her up and spun her around, over flowing with joy. "We're going to have a babino~!" He then set her down only to pull her into a hug.

Sì, amore. Our own little one," Agnese smiled and nuzzled Leo's chest, happily.

After a month Mamma and Pappa told Nonno Roma the news. Nonno was very angry at first, thinking his little girl would have waited to have kids, but he soon got over it thinking about being a nonno. He soon came to accept Pappa as a son in law, even tho Mamma and Pappa weren't married, and he started saying that Pappa should change his last name to Vargas and marry Mamma.

Agnese was afraid her child would come out looking like a wolf, so she and Pappa never went to a hospital. This made it a huge surprise when WE were born. My fratello and I are twins, but we didn't look alike. They named my big brother Lovino, Lovino Vargas, and me Feliciano Vargas.

The time we had with Mamma and Pappa was not long. Pappa dyed trying to hunt for food for us on the day we were born. Agnese was devastated, but she kept going for Lovino and me. Mamma was with us for a year, somehow she kept us from changing into wolf pups around Nonno. But not long after our first birthday, Mamma fell ill. She was in the hospital for half a year, during which time she told Nonno about everything; Lovino and me changing into puppies, about papa being a wolf, everything. But sadly, Mamma died after those six months, and Nono said it was one of the saddest days, yet the flowers smiled like she always did.

Now Nonno Roma had to take care of his two young wolf-children grandsons. But he made a promise to Agnese right before she died. He promised hr would protect us with his life, and let us grow up safely. And Nonno planned to keep his promise.
