Mercy shot
The man held out a gun.
"That's not the way I deal with things." Cobb spoke with such confidence; Nash thought that he would get away with his betrayal. The ignorant fool.
His mistake was made clear when Saito tapped on the window and a man started to pull him out. "Wait!" My voice escaped my lips without the slightest hint of regret. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Cobb turn to face me but I forced my voice to remain steady as I continued. "This is the way I deal with things."
Saito smiled as the man pulled Nash around the back of the helicopter and in front of me and extended the gun once more. I took it and aimed between Nash's eyes, my hand unwavering.
"Please Arthur, have mercy?" Nash pleaded.
"I am." Was my simple reply before I pulled the trigger.
As I turned away from the now dead architect snuck a glance at Cobb. His face is expressionless but his eyes…his eyes told a different tale. One of fear, distaste…and…betrayal.
The fear and distaste I could handle but the betrayal I could see in his eyes hurt more than any bullet. I just pray that he can understand my reason why. If I hadn't killed him than he would have been handed over to Cobal and would have had to suffer a much worse fate.
My shot was out of mercy.
