A/N I wrote this a while ago and wasn't sure whether or not to but it up. I know it is short, but I decided to publish it anyway. What do you all think? Please tell me in a review!
Disclaimer: I do not own the character of Hermione Granger.
July 1991
"Hey Sophie!" called Mary, "Are you coming for ice cream when school's over?"
"Yeah," replied Sophie, "Who's going?"
"Everyone," answered Mary before walking backwards into me.
"Oh sorry, Hermione: didn't see you there," she tells me.
"It's fine," I mutter, red-faced before hurrying off. I hate Mary. Not because she's mean to me, she's nice compared to most of them, but because she's a liar. Everyone's not going. I'm not. When school's over and I'm done with it forever I just hope that in secondary school I don't feel so alone, because that's what I feel walking away from the small red bricked building, only pausing once to look back at the rest of them chatting and laughing, lonely.
