History:
The Island of Zalfia was presumed to be habited by one of the oldest civilizations in Earthland. It is located 200 miles south of the coast of Caelum and is currently uninhabited. The island was first discovered in X316 by a group of mages who had been lost at sea. It seemed that the civilization was ruled by a Queen Regent. Reportedly, the inhabitants of the island were all magic users. It is said that the island had a very powerful clan of Summoners called The Silverdream Clan. Not much is known about the powers of Summoner Clans or what kind of beings were summoned.

Mission Report, March X580 – The attackers have destroyed the island. There are too many of them for us to send aid. We are unable to help. 3/7 ships have been lost to the North country. Their army is in thousands. Retreating to a safer area.
Mission Report, November X581 – Rescued 14 Zalfian Magis'. All of them are badly injured. Emergency treatment given, sending them to Fiore immediately.

The invaders from the north had ravaged the entire continent. The Northerners had taken everything from them and destroyed everything they could not take back. Countless tribes slaughtered for their magic and some, for their magic was too ingrained in their blood to be seized. It is said that some clans managed to flee the war and found refuge in the eastern continent of Ishgar. However, their whereabouts remain unknown. As for the 'Isle of the Magi', the island stays abandoned.

Numerous Treasure Hunters' Guilds have attempted to step foot onto the wasted island in hopes to find treasures from the known folklore of the Zaflian civilization, yet none have managed to make it more than a mile into the land. Most say they can hear the wailing souls of the people that were killed warning them to turn back. Others who had dared to venture further were said to be eaten up by a mysterious black fog. The source of this has failed to be identified. Following the missing persons reports all excursions to the Empire of Zaflia have officially been seized.
Ishgar Preservation Summit, X664 – By unanimous decision, of the participating states of Ishgar, 13 Lacrima cams are to be placed near the Isle of Magi to preserve the historic land of the Zalfian Civilization. Any immediate contact to the island is prohibited until further notice. Survivors of the War have been granted refuge in Ministrel and will be granted citizenship.

Fiore, X784
Levy's frown deepened as she read through the small book. In all her days of skimming through the libraries of Magnolia, she had somehow missed this small book stuffed between the shelves. Her frown turned into a soft cry when she read that only 9 of the Zalfian Mages were last recorded alive. It had been nearly twenty years, she wondered how many still remained.
Levy hastily got up from her seat as she remembered Makarov telling them a story similar to that of Zalfia, checking out the book as she left to for the guild. She had so many questions and no answers.
What was this kingdom?
Why had she not seen this language before?
Were these survivors of war alive?
Yes, they were. She had a feeling.

Author's note: Hey ya'll! I'm finally back with the rewrite. Sorry for being gone for so long. The plot is much better and hopefully as I go I'll be able to pace the story much better.
So, if you've noticed, I have used Greek letters for the language though, it's not actually in Greek. Its a mix of English and Greek to make a new one. I'll be giving translations for most of the Zalfian Language unless, y'know, they spoil the plot.
