kingdom of cards

AN: Erm, I don't even know what to think of this. Apologies if it makes little to no sense. Posting with the vague hope someone somewhere may gain some enjoyment from reading this.

Warning: shitty overblown metaphors ahead and too many lyrical influences. Proceed with caution.

The words she whispers are knives in your back and you glare daggers that'd set fire to paper hearts as you parade the school as if it we were your own. But you're not really queen, and this isn't really your kingdom. They just pretend it is. They humour you and bow down to your requests, but she keeps whispering and you see them listening. Fear is cracking your perfect facade and you struggle to keep your head above water. Secrets can kill and you're heading to the gallows.

Drown yourself in another bottle as your makeup runs down your face again. This is one cousin you should never have crossed. They say blood is thicker than water but either will suffocate when they slip down your throat as guilt tears at your fragile heart.

Who were you pretending? You're just an awkward little girl, not this perfect princess whose mask you've been wearing. You're not strong, you can't cope. You need her by your side again. But Dominique Weasley wasn't made to place second fiddle, and Rose, sleeping with her boyfriend was just the final straw. She'll tear down this perfect sham of a world you've created down around you. She'll turn them all against you as if they were always her own. She'll steal your crown and place it proudly on her golden head and you'll know that it was always going to look better on her.

Stupid girl, you could only live in your house of cards for so long. Stupid girl, perfection's just a shell and you weren't made to play these games.

Stupid girl, you'll be left all alone. Some mistakes you can't undo.
