Hello, remember me? I know I don't post much, but I'm on WattPad all the time. I don't post fan fiction much because I'm a bit embarrassed. But I've written a one shot that I find to be decent. I appreciate every single favorite and review!

If you'd like to see my WattPad page, I changed my username to OneBeautifulSinner.

Minor spoilers for Divergent. If there are any mistakes I made in the plot about characters, please let me know. It's been over a year since I read Divergent.

Enjoy!

There were so many things that Natalie Prior had to learn, now being a mother to two infants at once. Her first child was only ten months of age when she and her husband Natalie welcomed their second child into the world.

The new addition was a baby girl. Natalie had secretly wanted a girl during her first pregnancy, but it would've been selfish to tell Andrew that. But when her son was born, she was just as happy. Now that she had her little girl, everything was well in her life.

She laid the squirming infant into her bassinet by the small window in the nursery where the baby would sleep. The baby shifted uncomfortably and scrunched her face up. The couple prepared for a cry, but she settled herself and curled up.

"She's only four days old and already quiets herself," Andrew whispered in amazement as the baby closed her green eyes and fell asleep. "Caleb wasn't like this."

"No, he wasn't. He still isn't. Maybe she's different," Natalie said, stroking her daughter's tiny fingers. "I wonder what she'll be."

Natalie studied the baby's precious features, from her tuft of blond hair atop her little skull to her tiny toes peeking out from the gray blanket. She wondered if she'd be strong when she would grow up. She wondered if she'd be brave. She had to be, she was born to her mother.

"I guess we'll find out in sixteen years," Andrew said.

"I guess so," Natalie sighed. Sixteen years was much too long, but she had to wait.

Maybe waiting was for the better. She didn't want to have to live in fear of her baby being hurt if people found out she was Divergent. She just wanted to enjoy the time she had with her. Because she knew she wouldn't be around long.

She knew that her daughter would be something people feared. But she also knew that she would be something people needed.

Beatrice Prior was her name, and the way it rolled off peoples' tongues just proved that bravery was only sixteen years away.
