Emma hummed to herself as she picked up around the house, finally having the energy to search for her ex's stuff to send back to him though it had been months.
Her phone started to ring persistently, so she sighed and then picked it up.
"Hello, this is Emma." She tried to be civil.
"This is Lovino. Do you remember me?" A hesistant, male voice asked her from the other line.
"Oh, yeah. I babysat for you and your brother years ago." She giggled at the memory; they were such cute kids!
"Uh, yeah." Lovino struggled with words.
"You had the cutest crush on me!" Emma cooed over the phone.
"You knew?" Lovino asked her, taken aback.
"Of course, I did. It was so obvious." She was startled when her phone signaled that he had hung up on her. Oh, well.
He hadn't got to the point of the conversation.
She wondered why he had called as she went back to cleaning.
Curiousity led to her calling him back about a week later; the phone listed his number from when he had called.
"Ciao?" Lovino greeted curiously in Italian.
"Hi, Lovi. You called last week." Emma announced.
"I did." He sounded embarrassed; it was so cute!
"You never told me why you did." Emma pointed out.
"W-Will you go out with me?" Lovino asked her nervously.
"Sure." Emma seemed oblivious to why Lovi had asked her out.
Emma shown up in a cute, yellow and white sundress.
Lovino was dressed in a suit with a deep red tie.
When had he grown so tall?
The suit accented his maturity, and Emma realised that he was definitely not a child anymore.
She blushed deeply as she gazed up at the slightly taller man in front of her.
She didn't think of their age gap; all her thoughts were consumed with Lovino.
Emma would never think of their age gap with incredulity or disdain even when she married him.
Who would have known that her one true love was the kid that she used to babysit?
