Took You Long Enough

Annabeth Chase was beyond shocked when she found it.

She was looking for her favorite pair of converse (they were red and they were how Percy had told her he loved her) in their room when she knocked the drawer to his nightstand open and it came tumbling out onto the carpet.

Her heart stopped when she saw the little black velvet box lying there.

When she unfroze from her trance of shock she walked over to it and picked it up.

She gasped when she opened the box, 'It's beautiful.'

It was a gold band with a green colored diamond in the middle with two grey smaller ones on both sides.

She heard the door open and then a groan.

"Damn it! You weren't supposed to find that yet." Percy said with a disappointed look on his face.

Annabeth walked over to him as he kept talking, "This is all wrong, I was going to take you to dinner at your favorite restaurant and then do something really special, you deserve all of that."

She smiled up at him with tears in her eyes. "All of that doesn't matter now Seaweed Brain, all that matters is that you were going to ask me."

He smiled his famous lopsided smile that always made her melt when she spoke again.

"Well, isn't there something you want to ask me Seaweed Brain?"

He quickly replied "Oh of course."

He then got down on one knee and said, "Annabeth Chase, my Wise Girl, we've been through so much together and I want to spend the rest of my life with you so, will you marry me?"

The tears were falling down her face as she said "Of course Seaweed Brain!"

He then slid the ring on her finger and stood up.

Annabeth then kissed him and tackled him onto the bed.

It was hours later when Annabeth said before drifting off to sleep, 'It took you long enough."
