I'm the prince of all saiyans. The proud ruler of the almighty saiyan race. I have no emotions. I'm the perfect warrior. Cold and ruthless. Until I realized that one day I settled down and formed a family…And, even though I'd never to admit it to anyone, I'm actually happy…
I was happy to hear I could go back to Earth and help defeat Majin Buu. It would give me a chance to finally make sure the Earth is safe and protected. I stood in front of Baba as she floated on her magic ball.
"Are you ready?" I nodded and was teleported back to Earth. I appeared in the middle of the forest. I floated over to the river to see my halo had disappeared. I smirked and headed to the lookout, knowing my family would be there. I landed and peaked around the corner to see Kakarot noticing my energy. He smiled and turned to Trunks who was fixing to enter the hyperbolic time chamber with Piccolo.
"Hey, Trunks. Hold on for just a second." Trunks stopped and turned around.
"Why? What's wrong?" Kakarot then focused his attention on the shrubbery I was hiding behind.
"I think there's someone you'd like to see." I smirked and closed my eyes. I stepped out, my arms folded across my chest. I heard everyone gasp and turn to me. I looked at my son and opened my arms. I saw him get teary-eyed as he ran to me, throwing his arms around my waist.
"Dad!" I smiled and kneeled in front of him. He latched onto my neck, sobbing. My fatherly instincts kicked in and I wrapped my arms around my small boy and brought him close, much to the shock of the others.
"It's alright, son." He looked at me, his face a mess.
"Are you really here?" I placed my hand behind his head and pressed my lips against his forehead, a small tear slipping from my eyes. He buried his head into my chest and continued crying. I chuckled and picked him up, holding him close like a child.
"Hey, Trunks! What happened to our training?" Goten called out, Piccolo wondering the same thing. I looked at them and then faced the sun which was now setting.
"You're training is postponed." I answered and looked down at Trunks who had cried himself to sleep against me. I smiled a real smile for the first time and felt pride fill up my heart. I kissed his lavender hair and took off into the sky. Kakarot watched with a smile.
"Hey, Dad. What was wrong with Vegeta? He's never treated Trunks like that." Goten asked curiously, standing beside his dad.
"There's nothing wrong with Vegeta, Goten. It's a father thing." I landed at Capsule Corp and walked in. I took Trunks upstairs and gently laid him down in my bed. I removed his boots and his socks and climbed in beside him. I pulled up the sheets and looked down at my sleeping son. He had a peaceful look on his face and I couldn't help but smile before I wrapped my arm around him and brought him close.
"Dad?" I looked down at him and saw his eyes still closed.
"Yeah?"
"Promise me something."
"What is it?"
"Promise me…you'll never leave me again." I let out a soft chuckle and rested my head on top of his and closed my eyes.
"I promise." He smiled and snuggled up against my chest.
"I love you, Dad."
"I love you too, my son."
